airdvr 210 #1 March 2, 2010 Utah Bill Criminalizing Illegal Abortions Sparks Debate A bill in Utah that would criminalize illegal abortions currently awaits the signature or veto of Gov. Gary R. Herbert. http://www.christianpost.com/article/20100301/utah-bill-criminalizing-illegal-abortions-sparks-debate/ ALways find it humorous that libs are so often in favor of gun control because of the people that are killed. Interested to know what it was before it was "criminalized".Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
quade 4 #2 March 2, 2010 I'm not really certain you actually read the article. The issue is one I was going to bring up in another thread, but I'll do it here since you've already broached it. Utah is already highly anti-choice. The case that sparked this bill involved a woman that allegedly induced a miscarriage. What this bill would do is put all miscarriages under suspicion of actually being illegal abortions. I think that's bullshit. If a woman has a miscarriage, that's quite enough pain and suffering without the government getting involved.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

My point is how does one reconcile gun laws with abortion laws. BTW...I'm pro-choice. But I'm not the person who has to deal with having made the decision to end a life. Please don't dent the planet. Andy9o8 2 #7 March 2, 2010 QuoteMy point is how does one reconcile gun laws with abortion laws. One does not, as the issues are too dissimilar (unless you're into "six degrees of separation"). An example of issues that are subject to that kind of comparitive analysis might be the friction between attitudes toward abortion and capital punishment.
