Niki1 2 #1 February 24, 2010 Just a few weeks after Scott Brown was elected to Ted Kennedys old Senate seat amid joyus cries that it signaled the down fall of the Democratic Party, he is now being villified as a turncoat for voting for a jobs bill sponsored by a Democrat. In another story, the resurection of the health care bill was a win for Harry Reid. No matter which party "wins" on any particular thing the people of the country lose. The partisanship is becomming like a scorched earth tactic. According to either side, the people of the other party are totally despicable monsters who could not be loved even by their own mothers. If Statesmen ever existed, they have become extinct. Or evolved into Polititians, Or maybe Polititians were created. It doesn't matter which, they are a parasite sucking all the benifit out of any situation for their own agrandizement. They see their main job as getting re-elected. Since Viet Nam, conventional warfare has been outmoded. Guerella warfare, insurgents, suicide bombers are the weapons we fight now. It is almost impossible to prevail militarily in this environment. If the insurgent doesn't lose, he beats us. If we don't beat all the insurgents, we lose. Unconventional warfare seems to be the new thing. Partisanship has become the unconventional civil war. The cancer that it fosters make it impossible to tell the good guys from the bad. Because there are no good guys. "A pox on both their houses." The polititians, corrupted by their own greed for the lobbiests money have rendered a "government of the people, by the people and FOR the people" as obsolete as trench warfare. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?
