State of the Union Address

Recommended Posts

On the edge of my seat... reminiscing the past year and how nice it's been driving on new roads and bridges everywhere I go :S:S. I can only imagine what the future will bring... maybe golden brick roads to the Wizard of Oz. With this administration any promise of hope is possible.

Hahahahaha.... I'm laughing too, cause this is a complete joke.

-Keeping an eye on the lobbyists? Aaah yeah right, thought he already promised that.

-Keeping an eye on ear-marks? Hahahaha...

-Listen to and work with the Repubs? He's going to have to open the door first.

-Obama- "I'm not interested in re-litigating the past." Wow he actually said that with a straight face. He just within the past 15min gave the "Whoa is me for what I adopted" at least 3 or 4 times.

Yea, I saw that too and I thought that was pretty shitty. Do gays bleed differently? Do they want to die for their country differently than a straight soldier does? They (the brightly dressed military guys we're talking about) shouldn't be in any high ranking military position if that is their stance. They should be welcoming anybody and everybody who wants to fight for our country. Just my opinion, but we all know the saying what those are like.... :S
Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

It's common that the officers and judges do not applaud or respond to the speech.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I just think they did not applaude just to keep anyone from thinking they might be gay:ph34r:

Haha... yeah that too.

As far as gays in the military... I think it's mostly a non-issue. I really don't think there are that many people who honestly give a shit about gays in the military republican or otherwise. We all know that gays can look down the barrel probably better than anyone... (sorry I couldn't resist that last sentence, but I was sincere about the rest.)

With so many chickenhawks staying away in droves.... I believe any american that wishes to serve should be able to do so. Personally I think that having everyione serve for two years after high schooland in trade you get two years of college for free no strings. It would help a lot of kids grow the hell up... and perhaps instill some discipline into their lives that would last a lifetime.

It does sound good, and I bet every one of those scowling flag officers at the Address will agree Too.

For that matter, I also bet most don't care at all about don't ask don't tell in either direction. Every flag officer I know only cares about performance - they don't much care about people's private lives as long as it doesn't impact the job. This topic isn't really a military topic, it's a political ping pong game that's played using the military to make hay.

The military continues to be one of the most successful melting pots in this country. They only differntiate between children and adults - because their mission requires them to turn the first into the second.

The visitor logs show that the Obama Administration is doing a fine job of keeping daily tabs on the wealthiest of lobbyists.

[Reply]-Keeping an eye on ear-marks? Hahahaha..

You have to keep your eye on the earmarks or they'll escape the budget.

[Reply]-Listen to and work with the Repubs? He's going to have to open the door first.

The door doesn't open until the toe taps, right Jeanne?

[Reply]-Obama- "I'm not interested in re-litigating the past." Wow he actually said that with a straight face.

That line didn't work for McGwire.

Mr. President - try going Shammy Shooozer (homage to the late Ted Kennedy) and say, "No habla Anglais"

If you already know you're going to hate it, before you even start listening, why watch?

Personally, I wasn't looking forward to hearing the President say "the state of the union is strong", when it's obviously not. But so far, I haven't heard that. In fact, nearly everything said is something I agree with.

Sorry you thought that all the roads and bridges in America were going to be rebuilt in a year - I'm guessing your education isn't in civil engineering.

Well, they were hoping for that surge of Dems volunteering for A'stan. They found out the Dems are only interested in serving themselves, evidently.
