QuoteGermany and China are Iran's top trading partner after the United Arab Emirates, official figures show. It's okay though. President Obama has held out an open hand to Iran, and the world likes us now...oh wait... Iran Responds to Fuel Swap Deal, Rejects Key Component... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! I'm not gloating Bill...I am however pointing out what is an obvious failure of the "nice guy" strategy. A strategy which I have noted in one way or another would not work, and have cited variations of it not working thus far, from Copenhagen to Venezuela, from DVDs to iPods to Reset Buttons, from taking four months to change a mind about Afghanistan military assets, our position has been weakened. Even our allies are not placing the tea leaves, thus indicating that even further sanctions aren't being actively talked about. A company pursuing a deal with a foreign country, would be measuring their risk versus the political climate. This "unnamed" enterprise is willing to gamble $1.5B...apparently not worried about possible sanctions...why? No sanctions or action is being discussed. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
