...but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

Are you suggesting that Congress is considering legislation for less than all fifty states? Are you saying that the legislation treats various states significantly different from one another?

You're kidding right? Hello...Nebraska...Florida...LMAO...

What's funny is how people keep naming states without explaining the significant differences in their treatment under the legislation.

If you haven't been following the news enough to know what the differences are, then why are you commenting on it?

Feel free to enlighten me. Nothing is showing up in Google news about states being treated differently.

I'm sorry. By the way your posts read, it sounded like you had some sources to back up your claims.

That doesn't even come close to supporting the assertion that states will be treated significantly differently from one another under the proposed legislation.

From your own source:

At least one Congressional leader says lawmakers are dropping the controversial “Cornhusker Kickback” from the final version of their massive health care reform package.

Gannett News Service reported on Tuesday that lawmakers were removing the provision — a backroom, sweetheart deal between Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and his Democrat bosses to give his state a financial advantage (to the detriment of all other taxpayers) in return for his crucial 60th vote to pass the health care bill.

“The agreement between the House and the Senate will exclude this Nebraska language,” Congressman Rob Andrews (D-NJ) said. “The final bill will treat all states equally on the Medicaid matter.”

Even left in, it doesn't cause the states to be treated significantly different w/r/t how Congress taxes them, which is the criteria necessary to support the assertion.

All of the sources addressed the same thing. The newest one showed that the issue was no longer relevant to the legislation, essentially superseding all of your other sources.

If you can't show how the states will be treated significantly different w/r/t taxation under the legislation, then your assertion is unsupported.

I never thought I'd say this, but you're absolutely right.

I think you'll find that Medicaid is jointly funded by states and the federal government, and already has federal funding disbursed unequally among the states. As the federal Medicaid taxes are collected via taxing income, the sixteenth amendment allows Congress to collect the funding "without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

So you are saying that the Feds allowing one state to pay less of their own way is fair ?

I refer to the Cornhusker kickback you know

That already happens with many states (mostly red ones). While it may not be fair, it isn't Unconstitutional as has been claimed.

You first - I'm still waiting for the reply on how Fed.gov can dictate that I buy anything.

Explained time and again already. Do a search.

So, when some future congress states that it's "for the general welfare" that everyone send their kids to religious schools, you'll have no complaint - good to know.

You might want to check out a document called the United States Constitution, particularly Amendment 1. It appears you're unfamiliar with the document. After you finish reading that, you might try reading the related SCOTUS case law, establishing a wall between church and state.
