CB Caps

Anyone ever shoot them? I know very little about them. We used to shoot em in my friends basement into a bullet trap that used phone books and Sears catalogs to catch the slugs that were deflected downward by a steel plate at a 45 deg angle. Also shot bigger stuff and a diy FA .22LR into it, but that's another story... Are CB Caps even used anymore?

Yes, I see them at the local range every once in a while. They don't have the power to cycle the action in an auto (rifle or pistol), but shorts don't either.

Out of a rifle barrel they are amazingly quiet.

We were playing with them a while back and they'd go maybe 1/2- 3/4 inch into a sandbag. Regular 22lr would go 1-1/2 inches.

They might be good (or at least better than a pellet gun) for pest control. You could probably get away with them in the city, at least with a rifle. A hammer pounding nails is louder.

We used them to shoot rats in the barn. Low noise and just enough "oomph" to do the job.
