This is health care to nowhere. California's congressional delegation should either vote against this bill..or get in and fight for the same sweetheart deal that Senator Nelson of Nebraska got for the Cornhusker State. He got the corn, we got the husk.'' The Governator gave his final State-of-the-State speech today and made a surprising 180 degree turn on Obamacare. Schwarzenegger was a big supporter of the bill, but finally realized that it will drive California deeper in debt, with the higher state costs for Medicare. In his speech he laid down a challenge for California’s congressional delegation. Schwarzenegger, who wants more federal dollars or the flexibility to reduce Medicarecosts, said the state’s Senators and House members should vote against the bill “or get in there and fight for the same sweetheart deal that Sen. (Ben) Nelson got for the Cornhusker state … They got the corn, we got the husk.” ------------------ Surely nothing some more "closed-door" debates can't fix.*I am not afraid of dying... rehmwa 2 #2 January 7, 2010 Quoteget in and fight for the same sweetheart deal that Senator Nelson of Nebraska got for the Cornhusker State and he still doesn't get it - he still thinks a deal where the other 49 states (48, since Nebraska is out) supplement his costs is a good deal until we all stop thinking like this (it's ok if someone else pays for it) - we'll go bankrupt ... Even if they kick back enough to cover the mandated Medicare spending increases we'll still be the "some one else" paying for the 32 states that get more than they give ranging from egregious like New Mexico at $2.03 to moderate like Nebraska at $1.10. California is also broke. We can't afford government mandated spending increases without additional funds to cover the bills.

But are you arguing that Cali should then take the same underhanded trick as Nebraska? or that Nebraska shouldn't get any special treatment?
