Islamic mosque built at 9/11 Ground Zero

> Islamic mosque built at 9/11 Ground Zero

It's not at "ground zero." It's two blocks north. Read first, outrage second.

Exactly. The headline and first paragraphs are deliberately deceptive.
Headline: "Islamic mosque built at 9/11 Ground Zero" (just like the title of this thread)
First paragraph: "...just steps from Ground Zero..."
"Two blocks away" doesn't get revealed until the 2nd paragraph.

TO the OP: recall the ultimate creed of what the USA is supposed to be all about. The proper response to hatred and bigotry is stamp out all hatred and bigotry, not to retaliate by emulating it.

the 'Official story' is the joke,

Your laws have been broken by your superiors, you liberties have been taken away and no tru investigation as to what happened that day has never been done.

Who cares what they build there, the more important questions are;

Why is the truth being witheld?

Why is your government pushing for unversal healthcare but won't listen to or acknowlwdge the the many 9/11 first reponders that 'ARE DYING' due to being heros that day.

Why is the last guy out of the towers who worked there for 20 years not being listened to. (He witnessed many explosions)

Why are 'Millions' of people around the world outraged with the false story that has been 'fed to us'.

Why is the information that would clear the issue up beyond reasonable doubt being witheld by the US government.

Why is a police state being forcibly imposed upon us.

Why is a war that kills innocent civilians including thousands of children, being described as 'Just'.

Why does the majority of america believe that crap?

Why is america not being patriotic and questioning the authorites?

...

Build a mosque, a temple, a church, a place to hang out and a place to express ones individual thoughts at ground Zero.

I am no christain , muslim, or Bhuddist... I am agnostic and actually do not beleive any of that stuff, but I do beleive that each individual should be able to express thier beliefs.

USA was not attacked by Muslim terrorists that day, America and the whole world for that matter was attacked by a 'bunch' of international terrorists that have the USA government under control. These are international war criminals that are resonsable for treason, mass murder and the removal of cival liberties.

They should be tried by the people, their fortunes removed injected back into the economy and everything will be 'hunky dory', the chance of that happening...

...is up to you all as individuals the accept what is obviously happening around you.

You just have to take your mind off, work, your bills, your internet chat room, your ipod, your girlfriend, your car and the car you desire, you skydiving ability and all the things that cloud your mind from making informed and educated decisions.

Be sceptical of the crap you are fed and the truth will rear it's ugly head.

ALL of these people are being refused thier civil liberties, and thier right to have their 'findings' published in the mass media.

In fact the mass media and the governmwnt are 'going out of thier way' to make sure they cannot do so.

Your media is controlled and filtered, this is not the 'american way' patriotism is the american way, so start asking questions folks.

Leave islam alone and concentrate on the real problem.

Even if it were true.....so what? There are Christian churches all over the middle east where the crisades wiped out hundreds of thousands in the name of religion.
Besides, it wasn't Islam that brought down the towers. It was 19 asshats with a messed up idea of what Islam was.

Anyway,

No shit.

If you want to outrage me, pass a law that says that no mosques may be built within 2 blocks of Ground Zero.

THEN I will be pissed off, because it would be evidence that America has sold out its ideals out of fear.

We are at war with terrorism, not Islam.

Oh, geez, we woke him up again.

Let's all try to ignore the troll, and focus the racist lying author of the article being cited.

Don't flatter yourself; I was banned for 2 weeks for suggesting that johnrich should kill himself and just been let loose...

True you should continue talking about the original topic, but if you think that you have succeeded in sweeping 911 truths under the carpet, think again.

Lies are lies and more lies don't make truths, they make idiots!

Laugh if you will, but you laugh at yourself, your country, your liberties and your freedom.

I'll leave you to your yarn, but to think 911 truth is irrelevant and bringing it up is trolling is ludicrous and disrespectful to those that have fallen.

I could care less about the mosque!
Honest!
How about we politely ask the Saudi Counselet to get the hell off the island of Manhattan!
After all how many of the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia? And which nation is financing terrorism?
Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.

Would you be equally outraged if a Catholic church were to be built near the site of the Murrah building in OKC?

From Interview with Time:
Quote

Timothy McVeigh: I was raised Catholic. I was confirmed Catholic (received the sacrament of confirmation). Through my military years, I sort of lost touch with the religion. I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs.

I wonder if the 911 terrorists would've given a similar statement of faith?

Given that they're said to have boozed it up, hired prostitutes, and visited strip clubs before the attacks I doubt it.

was that ever proven?

I honestly don't know, which is why I didn't state it as fact, however the CIA did come to the conclusion that many of the attackers only "found god" shortly before the attacks. From the 9-11 Commission Report:

http://www.9-11commission.gov/report/911Report_Ch7.htm

"For instance, although Ahmed al Ghamdi, Hamza al Ghamdi, and Saeed al Ghamdi attended prayer services regularly and Omari often served as an imam at his mosque in Saudi Arabia, Suqami and Salem al Hazmi appeared unconcerned with religion and, contrary to Islamic law, were known to drink alcohol.92"

"Salem al Hazmi's father recounted that Salem- who had had problems with alcohol and petty theft-stopped drinking and started attending mosque regularly three months before he disappeared.95"

Notes from Chapter 7:

92. CIA analytic report,"The Plot and the Plotters," June 1, 2003, pp. 24, 26. According to Saudi authorities, none of the hijackers had any record of extremist activity, but Satam al Suqami and Salem al Hazmi both had minor criminal offense records. Saudi Arabian Mabahith briefing (Oct. 17, 2003).

95. CIA analytic report,"The Plot and the Plotters," June 1, 2003, p. 26; Intelligence reports, interviews of Saudi hijackers' families, Dec. 22, 2001; July 17, 2002.According to Saudi authorities, a substantial number of the hijackers isolated themselves and became religious only within a few months of leaving the Kingdom. All but Ahmad al Haznawi, who called his aunt to inquire about his sick mother, ceased contact with their families about six months before the attacks. Saudi Arabian Mabahith briefing (Oct. 17, 2003).

A few years ago I read a piece discussing the profile of a suicide bomber which concluded that the most common candidates were young, intelligent, educated people who had often only recently converted from moderate to radical faith.

I think the idea was that their previous exerience of the normal outside world only adds to the force of the conversion, like common student radicalism finding a really, really big cause to fight for.

That's just from memory though, so I could be wide of the mark.
