Carrying a gun is getting easier

I know a few rent-a-cops like this, as well - one was rejected by several law enforcement agencies.

Those guys, rent-a-cops, are sometimes a scary bunch. Worst then just about any group out there. Second on the list can be prison guards.

Troubling that he routinely carried more weapons than the average police officers I know.

I feel sorry for those officers. They will never forgive themselves if something happens off duty that they could have prevented. Especially if its something that they are required to intervene in, like family violence. Some departments require officers to carry off duty, although most do not. There is a basic list of stuff that officers should carry while off duty that you can make disappear easily in most clothes, but that isn't really germane to this discussion. PM me if you want to discuss it.

Not all cause/effect relationships are linear, so that's a sloppy argument.

No, if you bothered to follow the thread I simply answered a question that someone asked. They chose the years, I didn't. See posts #1 and #3 for proof.
:P

I also made no claim whatsoever about cause and effect.

I'll accept your apology.

It's about your own remarks, which you knew were unsupportable. The rest of the thread doesn't matter- you tried to backpedal with some BS about non linear correlations.

Flat out truth- there is no correlation that will support this inverted U shape. Your suggestions to the contrary are fantasies or lies.

In which post did I suggest a correlation?

In fact I went out of my way to make it clear that I was NOT drawing any conclusions:

www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3752510#3752510

But you, mnealtx and Ron got all defensive anyway:P
So far I've presented numbers in answer to someone else's question, pointed out Ron's misuse of the numbers, and made a general observation on non linearity.

The fantasies are all in your head.

Like your fantasy that I "cherry picked" the years, which were in fact chosen by quade.
  Quote

So what we know is that you cherry picked the years

You DID write that, didn't you?

I will accept your apology.

No, The USDOJ and the FBI provided it. I quoted it.

You still provided it to THIS conversation. Lame attempts at a strawman aside, you still cannot prove any correlation.

You are getting desperate if that's your argument. Neither does it alter the fact that you misused it. Even kelpdiver called it "Shady or merely sloppy. "

I didn't try to prove a correlation. I went out of my way to state that I was drawing NO conclusion. You leapt in with that ASSumption. Defensive, aren't you?

Source?

Been shown over and over... You just ignore it.

OK, here's a source since you can't produce one:

You know the drill, Ron. He stepped on his dick, got caught, and is now frantically denying his zipper was even open.

Since even he can't persist in the lie that there is a correlation, he's going to ignore the topic and try to focus the conversation on what he did or did not say.

No need to play along. Just keep repeating "there is no correlation" until he gets the message and either tries to refute it or (more likely), hides again until the next gun thread.

.

In which post was that?

The major dick stepping was

1) you accusing me of cherry picking a year (post #31, this thread) when the evidence of the thread (which you keep ignoring) is that john rich (post #1) and quade (post#3) selected those years, and

2) you repeatedly saying that I claim a correlation when the evidence of the thread (post #16, post#24) is that I did no such thing. You have been unable to show in which post this supposed claim took place despite being asked (post #52).

You were caught lying with your pants on fire around your ankles; the evidence is there for all to see. Repeatedly denying it just makes you look dishonest and silly.

Florida (large state, big cities) has higher homicide and violent crime than Illinois (large state, big cities).

And Texas is lower in both than Illinois.

Oklahoma (rural, one medium city) has much higher homicide and violent crime rate than Wisconsin (rural, one medium sized city).

Utah is lower in both than Wisconsin. So is Oregon.

Now prove it's due to the guns.

(DC is still #1 in both stats, btw)

When was DC made a state? I didn't see that on Fox News.

About the time they started issuing their own driver's licenses and collecting their own income taxes.

Why aren't there 51 stars on the flag then?

Whine about it to the FBI - I'm sure they care about your opinion about as much as I do.

Apparently you don't teach math.
:P

Didn't need any. The population density data came from the US Bureau of the Census, 2007 data, and the crime data directly from the FBI (2008 UCR). Look it up for yourself if you don't believe the numbers.

As long as it's within your own borders, who cares?

You'll never enter any European destination, so again, who cares?

:P

I'll be in Europe next year, but I don't mind leaving my guns at home while I'm there. Europe's a nice place to visit. Europeans sure make some wonderful firearms, too. I love my H&K. B|

Hint for you - *I'M* not the one going on and on about how the FBI treats DC - you are.

But by all means, when you find ANOTHER 'city' that issues it's own driver's licenses and collects it's own income taxes, let us know.

So you are now claiming that the FBI has the Constitutional authority to make DC a state? Which article says that?

You continue to make yourself look even more foolish than usual. Your decision.

(The income tax is [url "http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/1815.html"]irrelevant[url] and nothing in the Constitution says anything about what entities may issue drivers licenses.)

Nope, not claiming that at all - that's another one of YOUR red herrings.

OK, I'll bite. What was the authority that you reckon made DC a state?

Yeah, John, I decreed it and got the FBI to include DC stats with the states.

Happy now? Or are you going to keep whining about it?
