So you don't want 1,000 pot stores in L.A. But you're okay with 70. Or are you? Would you prefer that all the pot stores be shut down?

Like, wow man, are you, like, afraid to have a bunch of long-haired tokin' hippie dudes hangin' out near your neighborhood, man? Far out.

My opinion is that if it is going to be uses for "medical purposes" then it should be treated as a medical substance. I can't get vicodin from the house down the street, I have to go to a licensed pharmacy with a licensed pharmacist to get it. I think that pot should be in that same category, otherwise, it should just be sold in any convenient store, with the same restrictions that are set for alcohol and tobacco.

Why not? I can. (At least I could if I were so inclined to do so, but Vicodin's a pretty lame recreational drug, so what would be the point?).

I don't have a problem with that option.

That sounds reasonable to me. I've got a feeling that the state is making a lot of money off of their regulation of these pot stores. So they probably don't want to lose out on their good deal.

Nah probably not....people who don't smoke pot already aren't going to suddenly start smoking pot because they can go to a doc to get a prescription. Also reducing the number of dispenseries isn't going to reduce the demand nor the supply. It only means more people will opt for going to their personal dealers rather than a dispensery due to convenience as well as cost.

So the point you're making is that it should be completely legal or the laws should be enforced. Having laws with no enforcement is pointless.

If that was your point then I agree.

His point is that is you want to claim it is for medical reasons.... Then using the SAME standards as other medical drugs should be required.... Now if you want to try and claim it is recreational... Then you need to push that and then try to get it sold at Walmart.

I don't know about LA but in Orlando we have a pharmacy on every other corner. These re legal dispenseries they are talking about restricting. Do they have a limit on how many CVS stores they can have in LA?
