Democrats work on multibillion-dollar jobs package
Reporting from Washington - Troubled by the rising jobless rate, President Obama and the Democratic majority in Congress are assembling a new jobs package that would devote billions of dollars to projects meant to put people back on payrolls in 2010 and keep them working.

Didn't work all that well the first time...LET"S DO IT AGAIN!

I think we are going to rapidly pass the point where a near 100% tax on the rich, on corporations, etc. won't clean up this mess.

Our kids and our future economy is fucked.

Nothing like spending a million dollars of our childrens borrowed future, and compounded interest, to "create" a single vapor-wear stimulus job, or get some equipment operator some overtime pay.

They're like drunk sailors with a pocketful.

Obama urges major new stimulus, jobs spending http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/top/all/6760351.html

To find money to pay for the new programs, the administration is pointing to the Treasury Department's report on Monday that it expects to get back $200 billion in taxpayer-approved bank bailout funds faster than expected.

Obama suggested this windfall would help the government spend money on job creation at the same time it eats into the nation's debt, which now totals $12 trillion.

Huh? :S Like the article says. No new ideas, just throw money at the problem.

Please don't dent the planet.
