kallend 2,150 #51 December 2, 2009 QuoteWhat if colleges focused on getting anorexic college students to eat a sammich? A friend of mine has had serious problems carrying a baby to term due to previous anorexia (she has had miscarriages). This has caused her a serious amount of grief for her and her family. On the whole I don't believe colleges should be expected to deal with the social ills of our society.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. billvon 3,120 #54 December 3, 2009 >At our school we list both the cumulative GPA and the GPA in major >courses. Not a bad way to do it. Roll up core courses in one GPA and everything else in another GPA. That way a potential graduate school/employer can decide if they want a focused nerdy guy or a more well rounded guy. Tuna-Salad 0 #55 December 3, 2009 Quote Quote However, is it fair to -force- obese students to take such a class, or not be allowed to graduate? Offer but not require. As I'm sure you're aware, no matter how beneficial a change may be, it's impossible to change somebody if they really don't want to change. Yeah, yeah . . . looking in a mirror. good luck with that.. probably 1 out of 10 would take up the "offer" There is a reason they are obeseMillions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. ltdiver 3 #56 December 3, 2009 Quote While at Purdue, he made the mistake of taking a one-credit class in tennis and got a "B". He was so PO'd that he irreparably damaged his otherwise perfect GPA. Flashback here! When I was earning my degree at the University I decided to elect for pass/fail in an archery class (afraid I couldn't earn the "A" I needed ). I was kinda ticked off when I excelled at the class and -would- have been awarded an "A", should I have stayed with the grading system for that class. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

jumpwally 0 #58 December 3, 2009 No, now the kids don't like to sweat anymore,,,and the idiot Socer Moms did away with kids showering and locker room thing. Kids are taught less and less nowadays......Proper Exersize and nutrition should be instilled in kids from 1st grade on,,,,rigorous exersize daily would get rid of alot pent up frustrations kids seem to have and let them focus better on studies. By the time you get to the college/university level you should know all the rights from all the wrongs. It should be about higher learning at that point, if you can't figure out that you should not consume everything in your house every nite then why chase a degree ? smile, be nice, enjoy life FB # - 1083
