Lucky... 0 #1 November 12, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRdLpem-AAs Here was that great humanitarian as we know him hating on everyone poor. This was Operation Coffee Cup to prohibit Medicare. I'd like to get one of these old records as a keepsake. Probably worth a fortune. His post WWII paranoia is already apparent. Telling doctors where to live, kids where to go to school. All kinds of paranoid ramblings on here. Rights of the minority he says? The minority are those w/o HC, right? Fascist Ronnie, you're stepping on your own toes. I love it, he speaks of fiscal responsibility. He must have stuck himself with a diaper pin and forgot all that.
quade 4 #2 November 12, 2009 I wouldn't put too much emphasis on Reagan's mental state in 1961. He was fairly sharp. He was, however, a hired spokesman for a number of companies and made large sums of cash saying whatever they wanted him to say. That was, after all his job and that was precisely what he was doing in the recording you've linked. Those were not his words at all. Anyone that actually believes he wrote that is naive as a kitten. As for his post WWII paranoia, well, he was an actor in Hollywood during the 1950s. An asshole named McCarthy fucked up Hollywood pretty bad. Understand, pre-WWII going to a "workers party" gathering wasn't that big of a deal and lots of folks went just to meet up with other people. Little did they realize McCarthy would make such a big fuckin' stink over nothing, but they were already fucked. During the McCarthy trials you either sided against your own co-workers and called them commies or you didn't work. Actually, you were kind of fucked either way, but the folks that came out strongly against communists and managed to somehow not rat out people they knew faired a bit better sometimes. Reagan managed to get off pretty clean compared to say, Elia Kazan (the guy that directed "On the Waterfront). In any case, it was about that time he started doing less real acting work and more corporate spokesman work. Hence this little beauty from the AMA.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

He was, however, a hired spokesman for a number of companies and made large sums of cash saying whatever they wanted him to say. That was, after all his job. I was reading his Wiki page and he would speak at GE meetings, what appeared to be pep rallies that turned highly conservative and then he was fired by GE. He turned to politics after that. Yea, he was nuts, not here yet, not clinically, but he turned nutty in the 50's when he supported the House Un-American Activities Committee http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_Committee_on_Un-American_Activities and turned people in for alllegedly being Communist sypathizers in Hollywood. The guy was a punk all the way around and a rat. Reminds me of the case law; Mapp v Ohio where the cops were looking for pro-Communist propaganda and found porn. It's a 4th case. But to just say you want to read aboiuyt Communism and be jailed for it, to be jailed by some states (16 in 1968) for marrying out of your race is just sick. And Reagan seems to be a beacon for that kind of sickness. He opposed civil rts legislation and then later signed some, but I think we see his true colors. Lucky... 0 #4 November 12, 2009 Reagan = Operation Coffee Cup Today = Tea Party Protests Could these guys be original and pick a different food, possibly bundt cake or maybe ice cream? I dunno, maybe switch to the beer-gut bandits or something fun like that.
