If he did go, he'd be crucified for pandering to the European socialists during the tragedy of the Fort Hood shootings and the debate over health care.

I just found an absolutely brain melting NewsBusters article that simultaneously a) slams Obama for not going to Berlin and b) slams him all over again for having been to Berlin already.

Beautiful.
You must have read that out of the Daily Mirror.:) He's gonna get slammed from BOTH sides for not attending. He need friends. Send aspirin.

As I said before, I'm not Obama's fan, but some of you guys definitely make me feel sorry for him, while providing yet another example of what pieces of shit some conservatives really are.

You just keep feeling sorry for him and yourself. Maybe you should consider returning to mother Russia where the state provided you with everything. Right? I bet you found it easier to bash Christians back home too.

If I ever need your advice regarding what should I consider to do, I would let you know.

Regarding "bashing Christians" - I do not know what are you talking about. I could care less about Christians, as long as they do not try to force their crappy Jesus into my life, where I definitely do not need it.

He's a 4 year Senator.... A child who just ditched the training wheels is going to run the Tour De France. Not enough experience to be President.

I can think of another Illinois politician - 1 term as state legislator, 1 term as a congressman, lost an election for Senate - most people consider that guy to have been a not-half-bad president.

The funny thing about that is the left hated him back then as well.

Lincoln was far smarter than Obama and took more abuse than anyone who ever held that office.

Besides the fact he knew how to tell the truth and actually gave a shit about the rest of the country.

So in other words, Obama and Lincoln had nothing in common.

The strict abolitionists, such as Seward and especially Chase, were resentful at Lincoln's considerable willingness to compromise moral imperatives - the abolition of the enslavement of human beings under near-genocidal conditions - for the sake of political pragmatism. But it was that pragmatism that held Kentucky, western Virginia (later West Virginia), Missouri, Maryland and Delaware, all slave states, in the Union.

I'd put them both in the top 5% of each category. (Same goes, sadly, for each of their respective wives while each as First Lady.) Lincoln, of course, took the ultimate abuse; although from the hateful wacko commentary I read on the boards, it seems there are those who'd love that history to repeat itself, too.

I'm not going to play the game of responding to Obama Derangement Syndrome. But scholars of Lincoln know fully well that the "Honest Abe" moniker was a slogan used to sell him like soap flakes, and in reality it was honored in the breach no less than the average politician.

I think most serious and objective scholars of presidential history would strongly disagree with that.

I was not speaking about he Honest Abe slogans

I was speaking about the fact he told it like it was, people were completely incensed by it.

He was likened to Satan, in fact the newspapers of the day had cartoons showing him as having horns and a tail.

He was considered the murderer of a nation, a war monger, the kind of person who would have familes killing their own kin.

He did what had to be done, he could have just tried to avoid it by passing it off until the next guy was in office.

It seemed that like it or not it was his fate, and he could not turn away.

I don't think that man had a nights sleep during his presidency.

He basically lived through hell his entire life even from the time he was a small child.

People want to say Obama came from nothing, from where Lincoln started it must have looked like paradise by comparison.

Which is illustated by survey after another, surveys not from the street but from presidential academicians. Lincoln #1-2, Hoover, GWB 6th from the bottom along with Pierce and Buchannon at the bottom; pro-slavery.

Bit of course that's a liberal conspriacy, Hoover, Nixon, GWB were all the greatest men of all time.:S

Look at it this way. Couldn't Obama pander to the coprorations and just roll thru his presidency wearing Armani suits and traveling to Europe every chance he gets? He could ditch HC, which could blow up on him whichever way it goes and has created some divide, but he cares about people and is willing to ruin his legacy over it. He could be, as I'm sure many Republicans refer to him as, a 'good house monkey' and just go along like the real chimp, GWB and walk away loved by corp America and hated by the people, but he cares about people, if you will, "lesser" (my words) than he and is willing to gamble when it doesn't behoove him.

That's a great man, a great president and a sacrificer of all when most men would not. Just ask yourself what he has to gain by pushing HC and you'll see what a great president he is. If you go to neckville south you would find people hating Lincoln and the civilized, intelligent world knows he is great. So:

1) Try not to judge him until he has time to fullfil some issues.

2) Try to listen to the country/world and see what they think, compare it to your position and factor out the unbiased truth/reality.
