Hilarious Drudge Headline - Sunday Nov. 8 2009 12:35 am

Recommended Posts

Ok, I don't care what side of the aisle you identify with, I found this Drudge headline hilarious.

The bill passed 220-215. It's not exactly like there was anybody out of town! Yes, that really was super tricky and "she" sure must have caught "them" off guard; only 435 members of the House showed up.

Drudge clearly understands the intelligence level of his audience.

You want her.

No amount of booze or money, and you forget, I'm a little conservative for that jewel. You, on the other hand, would be a better match. Isn't she a lawyer? Ah, who cares. Better have the pump and pills for that wild woman. What Nancy wants, Nancy gets, and you're a better man than I am.

Bet it was overtime, per diem, and autographed pictures of Pelousi.

Is this one of those wierd spelling insults like when JohnRich calls the Pres 'Obamer'?

What's with that?

Oddly enough, I don't recall you having the same problem with the terms "Bushitler", "Chimpy", "Pretzeldent Bush", etc... what's with that?

I merely pointed out, that for the Speaker of the House to get that many collectively together, there must have been some goody bags handed out; maybe lifetime passes to Disney World. Most of them are more interested in their own personal greed than HC, and they can be bought cheap (both parties). They love Mickey Mouse.

So, lemme see, the ones voting for HC are greedy and needed gift bags from Pelosi to show up, but the folks trying to vote it down are altruistic saints that aren't being bought off by the HC insurance big pharma industries?

That's not exactly making a lot of sense and you're giving Pelosi WAY too much credit for being able to control any member of the House.

The fact is they all knew the vote was coming and stayed for their own reasons without any coaxing whatsoever on the part of The Speaker.

First, I don't actually remember seeing any of those exact terms. Seriously.

Second, it's not about having a problem with it, it's about understanding it. I don't agree with comparing Bush with Hitler, or calling him 'Shrub', but I understand what the insult is. With the intentional misspelling of Obama's (and Pelosi?) name I honestly don't get it. What does it mean?

Sort of like the 'Tony B-Liar" that we've seen here - a deliberate mispelling as a pejorative.

Yes, ok, I'm aware of that one. But there the mispelling is merely the vehicle for the insult. B-Liar. It's Liar that is the insult, not the mispelling itself

What does 'Obamer' mean?

I believe John said it was a play on British pronunciation, if I recall correctly.

Did he really? Thank you. I wish I'd seen it earlier, it's been confusing the hell out of me for months.

(Bit wierd though eh? Does absolutely everything feed back to the UK for that man?)

He holds up some of the things that go on over there as an example of "it can happen here", although I can see how it seems that way.

Of course, the reverse happens, as well.

Doesn't really explain this one though, does it? Unless he's trying to say that Obama is like a British Prime Minister* then it just seems like an obsession.

*He really isn't

I can't remember if it was one of the state legislatures or if it was federal, but I remember someone posting a link a while back to an expose on representatives pushing the voting buttons for people that weren't there. They had video of it and it wasn't even discreet. People leaning over desks, scrambling to get to unattended buttons before opposing people did... total circus. I guess that would be one way to improve attendence.

For this particular bill, however, I wouldn't think it too much to ask to show up at slightly odd hours.

...yeah I can remember the room from the video fairly well now that I think about it and it defenitely wasn't one of the chambers in the US Capitol Building.

I'm pretty sure it was from one of the states in the... well... I think we all know what region it was from...
