New unemployment claims lowest since January

Good news, the 3rd and final rung has already started to bottom. After HC I think Obama and staff will be working on jobs creation even more than they have, but you have to stop the bleeding first.

In years forward as we retrospect on this recovery and realize how horrible these times were, Obama and this congress will be thought of as a brilliant strategist(s). Some still say FDR was horrible, even tho he recovered much worse, of course those same people won't accept that it was their party, Hoover who finally, in his last year trippled the top tax bracket leading to recovery.

It took Clinton longer to flip the economy that was already in recovery, but Clinton ditched the HC agenda so that freed him up.

Obama is great! ;)

I knew when I read that article this morning that someone on here would try and claim over half a million jobs being lost as a victory. I bet those half a million people would disagree with your leg humping.

Even in the best economies, say under Clinton in 98-99-2000, there were still many new unemp filings. The monster has 2 heads; lower the new unemp filings an start job creation.

Considering the mess we had, which you mitigate to a bad week, having the fewest new filings since Obama took office from your turd is a hige victory, now we need to sustain that and create new jobs.

I really apologize that Obama is succeeding.

If you only knew enough about economics to know that it is cyclic and just like it went down... It will go back up. History has shown that over and over.

The funny thing, is you keep trying to say that Hoover started the recovery last time with his massive tax increases near the end of his term.... Yet we don't have those here???????

Again, you show that you really don't understand history, nor economics.... You just grasp onto the parts that support your position and ignore all the evidence that counters your position.

So over 500,000 NEW unemployment claims for 1 month is god news?

That is like saying I only lost 10k last month instead of the 20k I lost the month before. stupid people think this way. when the new jobs found are larger than the lost jobs is when things start getting better. But the left is so desperate that they will spin anything to try and make themselves look good. Like Polosi saying the 23rd election in newe york was a victory that was huge because a rep held that seat since the civil war, wrong on everything. 4 dems have held that seat since 1950. the dem almost got beat by an independant. the only thing they got right was the rep that was running was an idiot.

>the month before. stupid people think this way.

Let's say you had a company that started out by borrowing a huge amount of money to get up and running. Sales started to increase. In May, you were in the hole by half a million; in June, you were in the hole by only $100,000. The July forecast indicates a profit if everything goes well.

Would you abandon the company? Or would you be "stupid" and think things were improving?

>But the left is so desperate that they will spin anything to try and make
>themselves look good.

It seems like only yesterday that the right wingers were desperately trying to claim "THERE'S NO RECESSION!" to make themselves look good. They look pretty dumb now.

Cause it was "lower than expected"

You know, the great qualifier:S

it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

It's funny to watch you throw posts together and make typos, then call others on it. :S Your bretheren above wrote "god" instead of "good" where your [SIC]? Again, when you run out of substance, you try to discredit the other's points by way of typographical errors. Desperate.

And when taxes are cut and overspending ensues that cycle returns at just that time. Amazing how the timing is so coincedental. :o You party ran this country into the ground, you wanna call it random chance, enjoy, 69M to 59M votres called it FU'd management and history agrees. You wanna wag your pseudo education around? Good, show me 1 major tax cut that lead to overall health forteh economy. Didn't think so.

That's because we have to coddle our billionaires so instead of drastically raising taxes we just deficit spend and let the billionaires hang on to their cash - you have to do one or the other, or a combo of both.

We raised taxes then, we deficit spend now, that is the truth, let's hear your answer to that. Amazing at the timing of the cessation of the 12 mill dead Americans and others behind them that would have died but for Hoover's late action and FDR's actions. Can youtry to pull more rabbits out of your hat to explain how we taxed our way out of hell then and we just deficit spend now, which really are the same thing in a lot of ways, or just more grrammeeer corrections from the guy who has no answer?

stupid people think this way.

Stupid people think the bars going downward are good, smart people think the upward reaching bars are good: http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdp_glance.htm I know which I am. -6.4 to +3.5 in 2 Q's is virtually unprecedented if not actully unprecedented.

Smart people think the little line going up is good, dumb people think the line going down is good; I know which I am. http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=%5EDJI#symbol=%5EDJI;range=1y

6500 to 10k in 10 months is unprecedented. Now just keep calling people stupid while the relevant party fixes the other party's mess....again.

Did I reply to him? Did I quote him? I use "SIC" in the way it is intended to show that I quoted EXACTLY what was there. Don't blame ME for your mistakes and don't blame me for not wanting to take credit for your mistakes.

Nope, I use "SIC" in the manor it is intended. But again, you don't let facts interrupt your personal interpretations. And I see when you get called out, you again resort to childish attacks.

And I am not out of facts.... I present them, you just ignore them since you can't fight back.... so you instead start the personal insults. That's desperation.

Now, answer this without your tap dancing:

Umm...so is $787 Billion

I'd like to say the mess your boy left my guy was unprecedented but it's not, it happened almost 80 years ago too. So you say 787B is unprecedented, yet yoor genius took a descent economy and ran it into the ground and it only cost 5 trillion to do so, and yu call 787B unprecedented?

Here, your math must not be good, let me point you to a website: http://www.calculateforfree.com/

At this point; YES. What do you expect under this economy, really?

So let me get this right...the overall health of the economy changes based on the point you're trying to make? I thought your boy fixed all that. Hell, the recession is over, isn't that what you said?

I'm not petty and ridiculous. Furthermore I actually have a point to make, not one to run from, so I don't want the distraction.

The ultimate ad hominem as distraction. Lawrocket makes almost as many typos as I do, and I disagree with most of what he claims, but he has very substantive args most of the time. I'm sure he would agree that being petty is just that, running from an issue is just that.

You haven't answerd one point in this thread - show me.

I just did, you don't like it, but I will repost it and you can address it. This is what I wrote:

That's because we have to coddle our billionaires so instead of drastically raising taxes we just deficit spend and let the billionaires hang on to their cash - you have to do one or the other, or a combo of both.

Understand? You have choices in horrible eco times:

- Let another 12 million die

- Tax the rich and redistribute

- Deficit spend

You can also cut taxes and do other idiotic things, but I'm talking positive recovery, which requires spending money. Where you get the money is the choice of who's in power, either take from the rich or tack it on to the tab - it's ultimately the same thing from the front of cash acquisition. Is that simple enough? Here's also what I wrote and you cherry-pickjed away from:

We raised taxes then, we deficit spend now, that is the truth, let's hear your answer to that. Amazing at the timing of the cessation of the 12 mill dead Americans and others behind them that would have died but for Hoover's late action and FDR's actions. I'm reading the objective data. GDP = sweet, market = sweet. Unemp = needs work but the bleeding is starting to stop. Do you have otehr economic indicators? Pls, let's hear it.

My thread was: The recession is over, but....

Go to that thread, I posted and article from mainstream media saying the same thing; teh recession is technically over, but unemp lags.

And as I said, your turd can throw us in teh 2nd worst fiscal mess in US history and if the good guys don't unfuck it for free in 2 weeks then we're allegedly all fucked up. Keep believin and don't change, I like my party in office.

The point you miss along with others is that we don't need the gov't to fix these things.

That's an opinion, not anything substantive to the issue. Opinions are nice, but like assholes, we just sit on em most of the day. See, my opinion is diff, I think in times likethis all we have is the gov to fix things.

Dude, the President himself announced last week that they expect unemployment to continue to climb. Just sit back and watch the storm.

The seven year ARMs are just beginning to adjust too.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life

Oh yea, there will be waves of mortgage hits. Unemp is still on teh rise, it just slowed considerably. IOW's the truck that is running thru your ass just slowed to 30 from 80 before he hit you. We're not there, but the relief is waaaay quicker than it was supposed to be.

Your refusal to answer simple questions says otherwise. And your only point you prove is that you are partisan and ignore data that shows how little you know.

No, it is normal quoting procedure. Again, you ignore things that prove you wrong.

And as for ad hominem..... You just flat out insult people... So, pot, meet Kettle.
