This morning I received a stupid and inaccurate chain email that apparently has been going around since February. It starts:

SOCIAL SECURITY CHANGES

It does not matter if you personally like or dislike Obama. You need to sign this petition and flood his e-mail box with e-mails that tell him that, even if the House passes this bill, he needs to veto it. It is already impossible to live on Social Security alone. If the government gives benefits to 'illegal' aliens who have never contributed, where does that leave those of us who have paid into Social Security all our working lives?

As stated below, the Senate voted this week to allow 'illegal' aliens access to Social Security benefits.
Attached is an opportunity to sign a petition that requires citizenship for eligibility to that social service.

Instructions are below. If you don't forward the petition and just stop it, we will lose all these names.

Second, who are the real fear mongers: The ones saying we are destroying the planet and only have a few years left to stop its ultimate destruction? The ones who say that H1N1 has been and is a pandemic and we have to be vaccinated immediately or society may collapse due to everyone being out of work sick? Or the ones who say that millions are dying in the streets because they don't have healthcare and we must do something now and those who want to fix the system instead of abolishing it just want you to die quickly? Or the ones that say we don't have time to read bills and we must bailout huge companies 3 times so we must do something now no matter what it is or the economy will collapse and millions will starve to death? I have received crap emails of that nature that have been making the rounds for several years. Seems they go around, then disappear. Next thing you known they are being passed around again.
One of the worst is the promise that if you forward the message Microsoft will pay you X amount of dollars for each person you send it to. I must have received that one a dozen times over the last 5-6 years.
