SHEERAN, AP Sat Oct 31, 1:26 PM EDT Police in Cleveland have arrested a convicted rapist after they found as many as six bodies at his house. Police spokesman Lt. Thomas Stacho (STAH'-koh) says 50-year-old Anthony Sowell was arrested about noon Saturday in his inner-city neighborhood in Cleveland. He says charges are pending. Stacho says officers have found three bodies and believe they have discovered three more but are awaiting confirmation from the coroner. The first two bodies were found Thursday night when police went to Sowell's home to arrest him on charges of felonious assault and rape. Police say he had spent 15 years in prison for a 1989 rape. But how do we do that?.. Particularly in a society like America which is so easy to "disappear" into? A Sex-Offenders-Register with life probation? Release on "Life-Licence"? These things barely work in Britain which has a far greater knowledge of individual citizens' whereabouts. Mike. Yep. It's "a bit" final. Why not? A chemical castration f.e. (already usual in several countries) will spare a lot of money, precious time and most important: Life of the potential victim. This should not depend on any party, which colour whatsoever. Death sentence is not within my imagination but, for most Yanks a legal solution. I feel sure, once a rapist - a rapist forever. Shut them away. Forever. No medial or psychological treatment. Just lock the door and throw away the key. That's my realistic solution (proposal). Being left on an island with weekly air drops doesn't sound half bad. Living on the edge of the arctic is challenging.. but not impossible. Give them the materials needed for houseing and let them regulate themselves. but once they go.. they stay.. it would be a one way trip since they are predators and did not wish to be a part of this society and live by the rules of the rest of us.
