Since his speech was a sales pitch for a steelworkers union, the video doesn't offer any relevant insight regarding w/r/t his role in the Obama administration.

Yea since it was a sale's pitch he can say anything wrong and it say's nothing about his character.:S

After listening to all four parts of the sales pitch, I didn't notice that he said anything that was egregiously wrong. Are you referring to the sound byte in which Mao was quoted? Considering the quote was remarkably similar to Washington's "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force.", I hardly see what the big deal is.

People need to get over the idea that just because someone (e.g. Mao) is a Communist, they cannot offer any constructive insights.

I think most of the children who were left behind would be surprised that a whole lot of our military has read things written by Mao, Engels, Marx et. al.

That whole Sun Tzu thing comes to mind.

Agreeing with one short quote != agreeing with the philosophy of the person being quoted.

Exactly. Who says you can't cherry-pick what suits you, regardless of the original source? - Plato, Jesus Christ, Confucius, Machiavelli, Madison, Metternich, Marx, Lenin, Lennon, Mao, FDR, Reagan, Obama. As the cliche goes, Mussolini did make the trains run on time.

Your right, I wish the govt. would learn how to kill people from Mao. He was much more efficient at killing alot of people. We leave them on death row to long. Other than that Im sure he was a great person!:|
