cliffwhite 0 #1 October 27, 2009 Given corporate investment in the swine flue vaccine is the media actually attempting to create the demand? Shortages? It's taking longer than expected to produce? Swine flu vaccine was produced years ago. Why would it not grow as fast today as it did then? Do the pharmeceutical companies creating todays swine flu vaccine not have the data from the last manufacture? Of course they do. I believe that there is so much less demand for the vaccine than originally expected , they are intentionally creating a scarcity in hopes of increasing demand. What do you think? Blues, Cliff You don't know much about how a virus mutates and adapts to vaccines, do you? The vaccines developed to ward off a virus can often become ineffective once the virus mutates. Why does it take so long to manufacture? Manufacturing a vaccine is not like manufacturing a car. Hurry a car and it just pisses people off because of the low quality. Hurry a vaccine and people could die by the hundreds from live virrus injections, allergic reactions, etc. Edit to add: I did not vote in the poll because the question is freakin' stupid. That question is "stupid"? OK ,alrighty then. If you say so it must be true! I think that pancakes are "stupid"!! That also must be true! lawrocket 3 #5 October 27, 2009 It isn't the media or corporations that declared it a "national emergency." I undrstand that the CEO of the largest entity on earth did. My wife is hotter than your wife.

rhaig 0 #8 October 27, 2009 I don't know about shortages, or whether they're genuine or hype for profit. I typically don't get any flu vaccine, ever. Considering it's not particularly deadly, and i don't fall into a high risk group, I opted not to get the shot that my company provided for free. Also, I have been exposed to the disease (both my children, 3 and 6, had H1N1, tested and verified) and did not develop symptoms. I likely developed antibodies during my exposure though. So what I got is better than the shot. (except for the sneezing coughing whiney kids... which is alot like this forum actually)-- Rob

I am not actively seeking to be vaccinated, will not be pissed if I'm not, but also am not refusing to take part. I didn't mean to leave you out ,Belgian_Draft !! Honest Injun!!! Next time I create a poll I'll be sure to leave an option which will allow for Belgian_Draft to be included. Then maybe you won't feel the need to call the question stupid . Remember ,"questions have feelings too" LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE !!!!!!!
