White House advisers say Fox News is not news

So McCain is now Stalin and Obama is Mother Teresa? I guess that makes Fox actually wrong for having an equal number of negative stories between the two?

The equal NUMBER of stories is not the same as equal coverage.
Look on two headlines:

"Californians say they will not vote for McCain"
"New facts revealed - Obama is not a natural born citizen, the lawsuit is pending".

Both those stories would count as negative to McCain and to Obama respectively, but nobody in their mind would consider them "equal coverage".

Right. It's not real research. We've covered that.

Your "fair" just means "matched my opinion", right?

According to Pew Research it was fair. It has nothing to do with my opinion.

And what "fair" means for Pew Research?

From page 1

A study by the respected Pew Research Center showed that 40 percent of Fox News stories on Obama in the last six weeks of the campaign were negative. Similarly, 40 percent of Fox News' stories on Obama's Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain, were negative. On CNN, by contrast, there was a 22-point disparity in the percentage of negative stories on Obama (39 percent) and McCain (61 percent). The disparity was even greater at MSNBC, according to Pew, where just 14 percent of Obama stories were negative, compared to a whopping 73 percent of McCain stories—a spread of 59 points.

I would expect more negative stories about Stalin than about Mother Teresa - doesn't mean the media are biased. Your argument is devoid of all logic.

So McCain is now Stalin and Obama is Mother Teresa? I guess that makes Fox actually wrong for having an equal number of negative stories between the two?

You obviously have no qualifications to comment on other peoples' logic.

You obviously are unable to comprehend simple written English.

Thanks for your usual level of contribution.

>But, I await your plethora of examples

No problem; I will post them again.

Mark Foley labeled "D-FL" after his sexual indiscretions with male interns
Mark Sanford labeled a democrat after he admitted his affair
Chafee labeled a democrat when it was clear he would lose his Senate race

Three whole examples.... wow.

How many times have the lamestream media mentioned political party at the top of the story when it's a Rep in trouble, but buried it in the last paragraph when it's a Dem?

Fox News is kicking ass for one reason only. They have less slant and more "news" than any of the Obama state run tingly leg media.

What you're saying is that they ARE biased, but since you're biased in the same direction too, it's much better for you than any real, unbiased news.

Not really different from what the administration people said though.

No, what I am saying is they will ask questions and run stories you T-leggers do not like

THAT is what I am saying

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Quite often. And if you think that's the same as lying about someone's party affiliation - it might explain your worldview a little better,

The fact that you don't see it as equally dishonest says VOLUMES about yours.

Yes, it does. Emphasizing one part of a story over another is different than lying.

If you had friends, and friend A didn't tell you that he had dented your car until the end of the conversation, and friend B dented your car but claimed someone else did it - would you really see them as equally dishonest?

I'd see them both as dishonest. Of course, it's equally dishonest of you to characterize the mislabeling as a Fox thing, since the stories were AP (and corrected shortly after the mistake was noticed).

Like "what would Jesus do with those gay people who dare to get married"? Then I'd definitely not like it.

A sign at my front door says "Jesus-free home", almost a year there. Would probably make a good story as well.

After reading this article this morning I'm a bit surprised this thread is on the second page.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/23/white-house-loses-bid-exclude-fox-news-pay-czar-interview/

A quick search shows noone else is carrying the story right now. Or at least it's buried with the classified ads. But hey the White House family portrait was released and NBC's Chuck Todd is discussing whether he'll shave off his goatee after losing a bet with ABC's Jake Tapper on the MLB playoffs.

They don't seem to have much on the ACORN exposes, either...outside of ACORN's denials, anyway.

Could you also find a few articles there about Irish Catholic-Pedophilic Church?

Obama's comments also came after he met Monday with political commentators Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow of MSNBC

And they call Fox not real news? These two are as bad as anything on the right. Just on the other side.

I don't get why Fox is being accused of entertainment only programming when MSNBC primetime is Maddow and Olberman.

They are not accused of entertainment. The message is different - the main priority of Fox News is to serve the Republican party, and their news coverage is biased significantly enough to the point when they're spreading propaganda, not really reporting the news.

Gibbs, Emanuel, and the rest of them are a bunch of whiney pussies that have resorted to completely dismissing an entire news network as 'not real news' because they have a different point of view.

My opinion is pretty much the same as Gibbs - a news network, which manipulates the news coverage to deliver some crafted messages, is not really something I would call news network. It is more like The Onion newspaper - which I also read two times a week (I'm a subscriber), and it's always fun, but I doubt anyone would consider them 'real news' - and likely not just because they have a different point of view.

Oh so you don't watch news at all then? They ALL do that! If you don't watch some of the more boased and strong personalities... all the networks have them...... Fox has news coverage just like any other news network. Are they biased... sure but so are the other networks who just love to kiss Obama's ass! I would say propaganda is what comes out of Obama's mouth! Despite what I feel though.... free speech and news are a big part of this country. Even if you do think you are the savior... messing with the press will get you burned.
Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it.

Not on TV, no (in fact I do not watch TV at all).
I read news, I do not watch them. I'm interested in what happens, not in what some stupid talk show host thinks about it.
