50 days to save the world....

Gordon Brown has warned the UK faces a "catastrophe" of floods, droughts and killer heatwaves if world leaders fail to agree a deal on climate change.

He addressed the Major Economies Forum in London, which brings together 17 of the world's biggest greenhouse gas-emitting countries where he said there was "no plan B" if agreement was not reached at December's UN summit in Copenhagen.

Negotiators have 50 days to save the world from global warming, he added.

Quote

Proponents of a system of world government and the tyrannical measures that accompany it have seized upon the popular issue of global warming to advance long existing plans for global governance. World government has been the desire of power hungry organizations and the individuals running them for many years. The Bilderberg Group, CFR, Trilateral Commission, and their think tanks like the Club of Rome are all such organizations. Council on Foreign Relations member James Paul Warburg, who was the son of Paul Moritz Warburg, a prominent banker, stated before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1950 that, “We shall have world government whether or not you like it -- by conquest or consent.”

Terrorism, economics, and global warming are all reasons given by proponents of world government as evidence of the necessity for a new world order. If world government is to be achieved by consent, as Mr. Warburg put it, then the world must be sold on the idea of world government and its necessity.

All this in the face of the fact that temperatures have been dropping the past 11 years! Every heard of the solar cycle? Earths temps follow it. Ever heard of the roman and midieval warming periods? It wasn't carbon that caused it!
So if you have been wondering why they have been so forceful when it comes to global warming I think the agenda is clear!
Oh....remember, people that don't think the world is going to end due to global warming are just fear mongers and holocaust deniers!

Carl Sagan estimated that 95% of the population of Adults in the U.S are scientifically illiterate. And perhaps the last scientifically literate president we had was Jefferson. Pretty sad. If people understood things in the scientific world then more things would be done, instead of trying to do things for something that is going to happen anyway (like warming and cooling periods). There is a big difference between REAL science and pop culture science!!!!

Indeed:

"If people understood things in the scientific world then more things would be done, instead of trying to do things for something that is going to happen anyway . . ."

95% of the people in the US just plain do not understand AGW, and think it is a political battle. (Or is something that "just happens anyway" or "there's no proof" or "it's not getting warmer" etc etc.)

One of the reasons Margaret Thatcher, the prime minister of the UK from 79-90, helped outlaw CFC's in that country is because of her well educated background in Chemistry. We need our leaders to be well educated in science, mathematics, history, and philosophy if things are to be changed. Instead of leaders who are just kind of really good at business......

I agree. Unfortunately, many people place politics far above science, and (for example) would argue that she's a moron because she disagrees with their politics. Even today, some right wingers claim that the depletion of the ozone layer due to CFC's was a myth - and that it was a plot used to "scare and control" people.
