"Obama administration closes the books on fiscal 2009: Falling revenue plus soaring spending leads to a $1.42 trillion deficit."

"Consequently, the annual deficit rose 212% to the record dollar amount of $1.42 trillion, from $455 billion a year earlier."

Sucks. That's all I have to say about that.

Well, we could be positive and be glad it's not the 1.6-1.8T that was estimated earlier in the year. Some of this increase are one time, but the key is not to put in trillion dollar health care plans until it has settled back.

"For 2009, the government collected $2.10 trillion in revenues, a 16.6 percent drop from 2008. That was the largest percentage decline on records going back nearly seven decades."

"Government spending last year jumped to $3.52 trillion, up 18.2 percent over 2008, the biggest percentage increase since a 23.4 percent jump in 1975, another year in which the country was struggling with a painful recession."

It is no surprise Ghia BHO is pulling a $250 check for each social security recipient out of his ass. 2010 is the first time, since 1975 benefits have not been increased with a COLA (cost of living allowance), so the President wants to make it up. Where's the money coming from? The treasury will make some more. Why would he do this? I think its none other than votes.

It's amazing the pile of crap Bush hands Obama and all Americans, and then some Americans want to blame Obama for it. An economy in its 4th of the last 5 quarters neg GDP with the banking and morgage world in a mess as Obama inherts it and some think he's at fault? Brilliance. Should Obama do what Hoover did and cut taxes, my friends? How did it work out for Hoover and the 12 million dead Americans?

Government spending...

Is so out of control. It's simply shocking...

It's all Bush and his R Congress. Everything spent so far is purely for Bush's Great Recession. After whatever HC is passed and its related costs, you can draw whatever you want from that, but all spending so far is due to the Great Recession.

Sigh. It's not a 1-year plan.

That is correct, it's going to get 10 times worse at this rate in the next few years.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh

no it's not. The way I read the GAO's estimates, the 10-year plan puts it at $9T.

The question I have for all those on-board with the bailouts is "when do we stop?" We have people saying "look what a great job he's done, things are getting better." So when does "better" turn into good enough to survive without help that creates additional debt?

While He may have inherited a load of crap, what is he handing to his successor in another 3 or 7 years? From what I see it's going to be a highly subsidized economy with several $T in debt to recover from. It's time to quit placing blame, and figure out when the problem is fixed. He can't go his whole term blaming bush for problems.

And if BO tries that, he won't get re-elected. But his die-hard detractors will bash away no matter the quality or the results; and in fact, they want him to fail. Well, let's call it what it really is: they want him to eat shit and die.

seriously, I think he could carry 50% of the people here in 3 years with that policy

both parties could put a 2012 candidate up with that slogan.

"Not Bush in 2012" vs "Still Not Bush in 2012"

you might even get a winner with a 3rd party "Not Bush and not Obama - in 2012"

so constant blaming someone else for ineffectivity it is then. I'd rather have effective leadership than effective finger pointing. I just want him to do what he said he would, and not do what he said he wouldn't, and along the way, not forget his oath.

>As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

So all those things you attacked others for doing during Bush's term - you are now OK with, because "as ye sow, so shall ye reap?" That's pretty much the definition of hypocrisy right there.

Wrong yet again, Bill - maybe you should QUIT trying to put words in my mouth.

You do sort of make my point, though - Dems whining over the same attacks they did on the Republicans for eight years IS hypocritical.

Not that anyone expected anything different from them.

Let's see...Bush pissed away a trillion on the war, which killed the economy...so Obama pissing away a trillion on HC is going to fix the economy.

Sounds like typical Dem logic.
