dreamdancer 0 #1 September 30, 2009 this sounds funny...not QuoteIt could be because for the first time America has a black president and the First Lady is a sista, and together with their two beautiful black daughters overnight improved the international image of black people, let alone Americans. But leave it to the diabolical minds at Fox Networks to pick up where BET left off with the debut of their newest show “The Cleveland Show,” where in just 22 minutes they managed to portray black mothers as unmarried promiscuous sexual objects, black teenage girls as headed down the same path as their mothers, young black boys as sexual deviants, and black people period as being unable to speak anything other than Ebonics — all in the name of comedy. Just like with the character Shirley Q. Liquor, a black unmarried welfare mother who guzzles malt liquor, drives a Caddy, and has 19 “chirrun” some of whom are named Cheeto, Orangello, Chlamydia, and Kmartina, who is routinely performed by a white man in blackface, there’s nothing funny about an animated television series that seeks to legitimize and reinforce every negative stereotype about black people during primetime to the delight of white audiences from coast to coast. http://www.alternet.org/media/142972/fox_tv%27s_bizarre_new_cartoon_comedy_is_a_minstrel_show%2C_pure_and_simplestay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

dreamdancer 0 #3 September 30, 2009 QuoteAnd before you ask, “What about ‘The Family Guy?’” – consider this. While “The Family Guy’s” father, son, and daughter may be on the chubby side, remember that the parents are married, the kids attend school regularly, and they all speak pretty good English. http://www.alternet.org/media/142972/fox_tv%27s_bizarre_new_cartoon_comedy_is_a_minstrel_show%2C_pure_and_simplestay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

TrophyHusband 0 #6 September 30, 2009 are you real or a computer? i don't expect to get an answer out of you, but it seems odd that you responded to my post with a link to the same shit you cut and pasted in your original post. it makes no sense. it is much more likely that you are computer program than bill von is a duck. lawrocket 3 #7 September 30, 2009 Hopefully, Fox will not air it. And hopefully networks will stop airing Def Comedy Jam and A Night at the Apollo. To all black comedians: White boys do not all talk like that. Plenty of white boys can dance. Then we can live in a world where there is zero humor. I've got one for you, dreamdancer. What do you call a black guy flying a plane? My wife is hotter than your wife.
AggieDave 6 #8 September 30, 2009 The show may not last that long on the air. Not because of backlash, just because it really wasn't that funny (unlike Family Guy, which is still hilarious). American Dad isn't that funny and its still on the air, though, so maybe it will stick around. Hell, the Simpsons haven't been funny in about 10 years and they're still around. So maybe the show will be on the air for a while.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
lawrocket 3 #9 September 30, 2009 Oh yes. I call a black guy flying a plane a "pilot." Let me guess, dd, that's not what came to your mind. My wife is hotter than your wife.
kelpdiver 2 #10 September 30, 2009 Quotehave you ever seen family guy? seth mcfarland is definately an equal opportunity offender. I remember when Peter found out he was a 'brother' and started frowning for all camera shots. And then when he found out he was an illegal Mexican alien. DD - I know satire is a very difficult subject for you, but this is another subject where you are talking about subjects you've never seen before, and are unqualified to be outraged over. lawrocket 3 #12 September 30, 2009 I boycotted a reproduction of Hair. There is a song called Colored Spade that consisits solely of stereotypes pejoratives for a black men, so far as describing dinner at the White House being watermelon, hominy grits and shortnin' bread, to name but a few items. It has other songs about White Boys and Black Boys, too. Of course, the point of it was legitimately to point to and satirize racial stereotypes. It was playing at the Fox Theater, so we know it was right-wing mind control. My wife is hotter than your wife.
