Lyrics
========
Song 1:
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"

Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country's economy number one again!

Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!

So continue ---- Mr. President we know you'll do the trick
So here's a hearty hip-hooray ----

Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!

That is only because GWB is a cunt and an illiterate idiot with absolutlely no respect for things other than what he considered important to him/what he is told to think is important by those that tell him what to say.

His 8 years of presedency was a flip of the bird to the world from the mega rich asswipes that actually have the final say on how things roll.

Obama is a well spoken man and intellegnt, he has charisma and creates a positive atomoshphere for those that have always had to feel opresssed and second rate.

So yes I would disapprove of similar songs about GWB because, and I repeat, he is a CUNT.

Those songs you posted are positive and children should be encouraged about a positive future of equal opportunity and even/fair distibution of wealth, rather than forced opression and slave labour for the benifit of a minority.

Pull your head in!

You've been watching Glen Beck again haven't you, Talk about brain washing! sheesh.

Negative, positive, you decide!

Check out this photo i just took coming home from dinner tonight it is attached to this post. I suppose that type of behavior is ok to you?

C'mon big deal. Schoolchildren have been singing about their leaders for ages.

On Jangbaek mountains, there are bloodstains.
By Aprok river, there are bloodstains.
Those holy stains throw light over
the bouquet of free Korea today.

The snowstorm on Manju plain, tell a story!
The long night in the deep forest, tell a story!
Who is the immortal partisan?
Who is the peerless patriot?

He is the benefactor who released the labourers.
He is the great Sun for new democratic Korea.
All people gather to the 20 clause political program.
New spring comes everywhere in North Korea.

Refrain

Oh- what a sweet name, General Kim Il-sung!
Oh- what a glorious name, General Kim Il-sung!
The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Very poorly written, and stupid in the way it repeats "Hussein" over and over like the racists have been doing ever since Obama declared his candidacy - almost a parody in fact.

I like this one better:

`The world has held great Heroes,
As history-books have showed;
But never a name to go down to fame
Compared with that of Toad!

`The clever men at Oxford
Know all that there is to be knowed.
But they none of them know one half as much
As intelligent Mr. Toad!

`The animals sat in the Ark and cried,
Their tears in torrents flowed.
Who was it said, "There's land ahead?"
Encouraging Mr. Toad!

`The army all saluted
As they marched along the road.
Was it the King? Or Kitchener?
No. It was Mr. Toad.

`The Queen and her Ladies-in-waiting
Sat at the window and sewed.
She cried, "Look! who's that handsome man?"
They answered, "Mr. Toad."'
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

i am an atheist and have no problem with my kids saying the pledge of alliegence. i would have a huge problem if they were to sing songs about jesus in public schools though.

I remember when I was a young kid in public school in the 60's, we used to sing Christmas songs in music class in December. I have no idea whether any public schools (esp. in bible belt regions) do that any more.

Oh, BTW, you're under arrest by the repost police.

Just a small observation - if you're gonna call someone illiterate, you might try harder to learn to spell.Laugh

:DI am a skydiver, GWB was the presedent of the united states of america, do you comprehend the difference?

I fall, and he was responsable for the livlihoods of all americans and a shitload of other foreigners.

He could hardly string a sentence together, yet was in a position that is considered by many as the most powerful in the world.

I believe he was simply a puppet. Not a very good one at that.

Do you really have to ask me what it is about the confederate flag, that I don't like?

Do you know anythng about american history?

The redneck adgenda that you are obviously promoting seems oblivious if its own obvious faults.

The swasitika was a neutral symbol before hitler inverted it and used it for his regime.

Are you allowed to fly a swastika around and consider it a sybol of good luck?

I don't think so, you can blame the KKK and its many thousands of followers for skewing history like that, the cival war was not all about slaves. The confederate flag, was gripped onto by the racist cunts of the KKk and now it will forever symbolise the pigheaddedness of such morons.

Yes, they have. For example, “Classroom classics” include songs in praise of Pres Lincoln, President Washington, Rev Martin Luther King Jr, Christopher Columbus, and two praising the US military ("MILITARY MEDLEY(Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines)" and "THANK YOU MILITARY").

There's also
"FIGHTING FEAR WITH FRIENDSHIP"
"(A request made by Pres. George W. Bush to America's children)
"Words- Sam Francis Music- Merrill Jenson

Children of America
There's a way to conquer fear.
It's time that we all get along
So hate will disappear.
There's one thing that we can do
And we should start today.
We'll fight fear with friendship
There is no better way.

CHORUS
Fighting fear with friendship
It is our Nation's call
Our President has asked the ‘kids'
To be a friend to all!
Fighting fear with friendship
There's letters we can send.
Tell the ‘kids' throughout the world
We want to be their friend!

Children of America
We love our liberty.
We wish that kids throughout the world
Also could be free.
If only they could feel our hearts
They would know how much we care.
We all want peace on earth for children everywhere!

CHORUS

(Bridge)
Regardless of our color or nationality,
We should respect our differences
And friends we all should be.

CHORUS

(Tag) Let's tell the kids throughout the world
We want to be your friend.

I wonder what would be the reaction if President Obama had made that request to America's school children?

What makes you think I'm pushing a redneck agenda? What is a redneck agenda, anyhow? I just asked a simple question.

You seem as full of hate and negativity as some of those in the klan video. You just hate different people.

Me, I have no attachment to the confederate flag. But I do not like Dodge trucks.

This is exactly right. School children have been singing about their leaders for ages. The tid bit that is not included in this story is that they sang MANY other songs that day about all types of black leaders since it was done during February which is black history month. The stories on Faux and some right wing news sites are leaving that fact out to make it look like they were just singing about President Obama for no apparent reason (except maybe the democratic, indoctrinating, socialist teacher's agenda-- oh my! :o) :S

I get the feeling that the words that were in the OP's post have been morphed since I have seen a few versions of it published. The fact that it includes "huusein" and almost emphasizes it seems a little off to me for somebody who was wanting to have this song sung in support of President Obama, and a few other lines stick out to me as being obvious that it's been added to stir the pot. I am not sure now since, like I said, I've seen quite a few versions of this posted in different places, but it would be nice to see the original song and also the other songs in support of black leaders that were sung that day.
Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

Perhaps you might now better understand how an atheist feels when his son is made to pray to someone during a pledge he is forced to recite.

I'm an atheist.

I'd feel the same way about both of these things.

I'm having trouble following your point. Can you elaborate?

A better question would be "how have we come to such a bitterly divided state of affairs?"

It might have something to do with the "I won" attitude that feels that approval of 51% of the population means you can ram anything at all down the throat of the entire citizenry.

More and more, it appears that President Obama is the Great Divider. He seems able to instantly polarize our national discourse. That's not really a very desirable trait in a leader, especially a leader of such a large and diverse population as ours.

Now might be a good time to step back and try to find ways to unite people, instead of pushing on with the things that have proven divisive.

It is a good question too. (Better is just so subjective, eh?)

A couple things need to be established: is the “state of affairs” really that bitterly divided historically? Or are we extrapolating from memories of the recent past that may not be a rosy as we want to remember them?

More interesting to me ... perhaps not you ... if Pres Obama is as close as you portray to Pres Bush, particularly w/r/t policy choices, that should suggest that the origin of the 'divide' has less to do with actual policies – if his really are so similar to Pres Bush – and that the divide is more a partisan creation of those in the minority. If he's really, as you repeatedly sggest, just extending the Bush adminstration, shouldn't the division be less?

Or maybe there are other explanations?

I think that there is a significant style contributor. A president who consults with the other party tends to be seen as more of a unifier. One who just basically tells the other party to get lost and does things his way tends to be more divisive. In fact, I think GWB is a great illustration of this. In his earlier years, I think he generally created more divisions in the country, because his party controlled Congress, and he was therefore more likely to go it alone without the opposition party. Once the democrats took control of Congress, I think that Bush was forced to work with them more, and therefore was less divisive. The election of a President of the same party that controlled congress (Obama) has swung us back to the some of the same feeling we had in the middle years of the GWB presidency (more partisan divisions).

I think the early post 9/11 years don't really follow this reasoning, because the shock of 9/11 essentially swept the partisan divisions under the carpet for a while, just the same as they made us all Yankees fans.

i posted a youtube link to the original song. i also cut and pasted the lyrics from that same youtube link. i have not watched the video while reading the lyrics to see if something was added to the text that wasn't actually sung by the kids, but you are free to do so.

GWB did the same thing. Both the Democratic party and the Republican party have failed our country. These politicians care about the party first, and not our country. We _MUST_ get past these political parties.

Damn good idea. Let's sing songs to the kidnapped, raped and (not incidentally) enslaved Africans upon whom not just the Southern economy, but through trade, the entire Colonial America/USA economy, was based for 150 years. Let's sing a song to Chinese laborers who built the Trans-Continental Railroad. Sing songs to the Native Americans who gave up 95% of their population and 99% of their land to make America safe for Wal-Mart parking lots.

Oh, Mammy.....
