Where will you go?

Recommended Posts

None, I have received a form of National Health care for 23 years now. It has its issues, (I've payed into it every year) but over all it is pretty good.

The current bill /s need work but may not be bad if we can help the ones who can't help them selves. The ones who refuse help I see no need to help, it is their choice.
An Instructors first concern is student safety.
So, start being safe, first!!!

If national healthcare passes, to what country will you flee to avoid it?

I dunno - back where we came from "UNEMPLOYED, in GREENLAND!!!"

WTF. "flee to avoid it"?!

What it might do is limit my willingness to freely give to that population. I currently give money out of pocket for some of my "self pay" patients medicines. If the government (which I read as "ME through mandate") provides it, then I have less guilt and personal commitment to personally donate my time and effort.

While we are living in the US, our family is also fully-insured (no deductibles, no copays, no lifetime limits) in Austria. By extension we can receive care anywhere in the 27-member nation EU.

Stateside we are insured through a Belgium company (www.expatplus.com). The benefit per insured person is limited to $1,875,000, that is per year!! Also, the European insurer cannot pull all the crap that American companies regularly do now: no easily rescinding policies, denying claims, treatment, etc. My experience with them has been top-notch.

So, in closing I am not going anywhere right now. But it's a a whole different matter w/ the US: I'd be very scared if I had to relay on US (non)healthcare alone.

And if it does not pass, what country will you flee to get it?

And why have you not already gone?

Well, it would be a tough choice Ron. I only have about 36 countries to choose from that I could go that would have better healthcare than the US.

Ah, because I actually love the US even if I have to put up with some really greedy fuckers that are ok with tens of thousands of its citizens dying every year because they don't have access to heathcare.

greedy fuckers

So, you're going to sell your home, rig, and photo equipment-budget yourself to a sustenance level existence and give the rest of your income to the poor and disadvantaged? Or do you prefer to be a greedy fucker and spend MY money instead?

See, here's what you seem to be missing, we're already paying for it.

We pay about 30% MORE than we should have to because the insurance companies (the greedy fuckers I was referring to) take a substantial amount of the healthcare money and put it in their pockets. It's money that's NOT going to healthcare at all.

No I would prefer to load all your older relatives onto a cattle car & ship them out to death camps for extermination.

Then I would brainwash your children by forcing them to watch commie indoctrination videos from the President.

Then I would invite Osama bin Laden over to turn America into a Muslim caliphate. Oh, and burn Bibles & force pregnant women to get abortions.

I guess that's about it.

Oh, and force everyone to get "666" tattooed on their foreheads. Can't forget that.

Did I miss anything?

No, that's pretty much the laundry list of the Dem's usual mischaracterization of opposition to the 0bamacare bill.

I appreciate the validity of intelligent disagreement with the proposed healthcare bill.

but the fact is that you've got a large number of people out there who are saying that national healthcare is the equivalent of NAZIs. :|

Does that mean that all the other developed countries apart from the USA are really NAZI regimes?
