Niki1 2 #26 September 16, 2009 QuoteWell, then Carter should also accuse Obama of being a racist for criticizing a black man. After all, any criticism of a black man (unless it is Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, etc.) Is the product of racism. Since Obama is half white there's no way it isn't lighty putting down the darkness. I can be self-righteous, pretentious and talk out my ass by making ridiculous allegations, too - allegations with no less validity. You need to start taking your meds again. I enjoy your rational, critical thinking a lot more when you're on them. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. wmw999 2,588 #27 September 16, 2009 Well, I'd have to disagree with Jimmy Carter, although he's got a whole lot more experience with national politics. It sounded rude to me, but that's more triggered by the divisive nature of politics right now, and the adulation in all of the media for over-the-top reactions. Not every rude action by a white person is racist. Sometimes it's just rude. The censure vote in the House was also stupid. During the election, when a Dem was making racist remarks about Obama, not a peep from Carter. Of course, it was Bill Clinton who was admonished by his own party and wife over the two incidents. pirana 0 #36 September 17, 2009 QuoteMalt Liquor and watermellon And some nappy headed whores. Not that Don Imus said ALL black women are nappy headed whores, or that all basketball players are nappy headed whores, or anything like that. So of course any assumption that he is racist is completely ill founded - especially since he did not say that being a nappy headed whore is a bad thing. Maybe it was his way of giving a compliment? Yeah that's it, it was a compliment. Did he explicitly say they were evil or bad because of their nappy headed whore status? No? Then no racism, right? Sheesh." . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley
