I wasn't aware that the confederate flag had been flown recently over a government building. But if it had, that would have been wrong.

However... if it's been gone "for quite some time" (does that mean a week a month or more?), then you have to admit that the topic of that boycott/protest has little to do with a flag and more to do with noise and fury.

I don't think Congressman Wilsons comments were appropriate, but neither do I think that he was being "racist" by calling the President a "liar."

I think this "story" is just designed to stir the pot... on both sides.

The NAACP is all about "black rights" which often can be seen as "throwing the race card." - that is their job. FOX is all about publicizing drama and selling "news" to their reader base - that is their job. They both are focused on their "jobs" and not fixing real problems.

The articles cited did not remotely state, and thus did not support, the conclusion that "blacks are the predominant racist ethnic group in this country", as Warped crudely mis-represented. It simply said that many people who don't consider themselves to be racist may actually be more innately racist than they think they are. And the article specifies that the subjects of the study were "120 non-black participants." So, yes, it does seem that Warped did not bother to read.

And mind you, Warped did not cite the CNN and Science articles directly, he cited the American Renaissance website, so apparently it was the American Renaissance website that commanded his rapt attention. As for American Renaissance, its white-racist agenda is fairly well undeniable. Here's the link to its home page:

By all means, look at the whole page in its entirety to get a flavor for the obvious common theme. But here's an exerpt from one of the various publications on race that are linked on the page, this one advertised as an "Amazing New Book About Africa":

I don't agree with your last statement specifically. If anything personal experience (not studies and so I am not claiming any wide trend) shows the reverse to be true. Simply look at the popularity of skin lightening products within the black community so see the "trend".

For what it is worth my personal opinion is that the whole subject is given far more airtime than it is worth. You can't and shouldn't change people's belief structures - if I hate blacks that is my problem. If I don't employ someone based on skin colour that is my problem (a "good" person selects an employee on merit - so my prejudice potentially exludes a better candidate). I have no problem if a black person hates whites either. The only area that should be of concern is violence against a race - in either physical or verbal form - and the laws for this are well established and of quite long standing.

Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, NAACP, or the NNPA in this case, do more harm than good and are often (95% percent of the time) the ones who initially pull the "racist" card where it's not needed.
