warpedskydiver 0 #1 August 31, 2009 I just got one in the mail and I am holding it in my hands (when I am not typing) It turned out fantastic, kudos to Bob Reynolds for coming out with a rail unlike any other and far more versatile. It installs and uninstalls so easily it makes a person dumbfounded as why this was not done before. The bbl nut is 2" long and so stout I could use this as a helper for a torque wrench! If you want no rails at all and want it light and cool, buy a G10 from Alexander Arms. If you want the best damned rail ever, buy a Templar fast rail, I think there will be a glut of used rails in the future from other manufacturers. Those afflicted with Tacticulitis(WCI, 2008) may be severely affected and be forced to seek one out, or be sent to a rehab facility for intervention. SOCOM and SPECWAR guys you know to contact Bob at Templar Consulting for what you want already. I don't rave about many products but you shooting /AR enthusiasts have to see this! quade 4 #5 September 1, 2009 QuoteYes, it is a free float forend tube for the AR15 family of rifles. While telling him precisely what it was, I doubt you communicated much if he doesn't understand to begin with. shropshire, Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-15 And here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Stag2wi.jpg It goes around the barrel and is part you can attach other things to. Look in the second link above for a similar part being used as described.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
warpedskydiver 0 #6 September 1, 2009 That and that it does not touch the bbl so the harmonics remain the same shot after shot Your grip and the amount of things mounted on it changes nothing at all for accuracy. A shooting glove is not needed. Cooling is improved by a vast amount. That is a huge help.

warpedskydiver 0 #8 September 1, 2009 Or maybe Vortex can get you a little trip to Hereford. Maybe you could give a few tips on skydiving in exchange.

AggieDave 6 #10 September 1, 2009 I don't know dude, I'm pretty happy with my LaRue. It would have to have something nearing on super powers to convince me.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
warpedskydiver 0 #11 September 1, 2009 Nothing wrong at all with a LaRue rail. If it is the monolithic upper there can be no changes made. This tube has a quick attach and detach mode via the three allen screws, it only takes one of them to prevent any person from pulling it off. The bbl nut being 2" long and hardened means that BUIS will not budge or anything else placed upon the rails. The receiver and top rail can actually be bridges without worry, remember that it used to take an ARMS to cover both and make it rigid enough. That is why LaRue made the monolithic and well as COLT with the IAR. The swivel holes are QD and the Bipod mount is already tapped for a QD or a stud. The gas tube is in that top I beam area/rail and there is enough room with the steel block in the read for a gas tube with a 0.875" low pro gas block. With the optional rear steel block you can use up to a 0.950" dia gas block and still clear the tube in the rear. Dave your rail is good enough, however some are lacking. I would replace a DD with this, MI and YHM are good enough, but not as good as this by any means.
AggieDave 6 #12 September 1, 2009 Quote Dave your rail is good enough No. Its one of the absolute best available. Just like just about everything else that Mark LaRue makes. There's a hot rumor going around right now that LaRue is working on making their own 1911!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." warpedskydiver 0 #13 September 1, 2009 The additional advantage this rail has is that even on a 14.5" BBL you get the sight radius of a 20" bbl
warpedskydiver 0 #14 September 1, 2009 Hey, I like Mark, he is a good guy. He used a Grendel to drop a really nice Bull Elk. 405yds with one shot, the brake on that rifle was a WCI. I think he kept that rifle. I am pretty sure he is going to be making rifles in 6.5 Grendel.
AggieDave 6 #15 September 1, 2009 Quote I am pretty sure he is going to be making rifles in 6.5 Grendel That's another rumor going around. Too bad he makes quality things...that means they're usually too expensive for me to get.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
