billvon 3,120 #6 August 20, 2009 Absolutely! Almost no one would like him. Heck, if he was born today, he'd be bumped off even faster. Each branch of Christianity would claim that "he's getting it all wrong" and that therefore he's not the real Messiah. Catholics would claim that he's not paying enough attention to the Pope. Protestants would claim he's paying too MUCH attention to the Pope. Mormons would say that he's not paying enough attention to John Smith. Right wingers would claim that he's a lying liberal illegal immigrant who wants to redistribute wealth to those who don't want to work. Left wingers would claim that his whole "sin is bad" thing is outdated, and that he should be more inclusive. He would undoubtedly be the wrong color. If history repeats with a western flavor this time, he'd be born in a hut in Central America, wander through Mexico for 30 years, then end up in Arizona where he'd preach to people from a hill in Sedona. The park service would want him arrested for holding a gathering without a permit, the Minutemen would want him arrested for jumping the border, and the local Homeland Security folks would want him arrested for inciting terrorism and not carrying ID. Eventually he'd be thrown in jail while a big hue and cry went up from his new followers. When he makes his first appearance outside the jail, he'd be assassinated by some religious extremist nut who thinks his version of Christianity includes the dictate "thou shalt assassinate false messiahs." And we'd have a new religion. Perhaps it would be called Josenity or something.

Attack what you don't understand and if you can't destroy it, give it a brief look then attack again.

This is an observation, not an attack but, you initiate the feedback. You attack, bait, attack again, then complain. That strategy will likely change as you get older and accept more responsibility in life. You do what young men do, that's all.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
