wmw999 2,589 #1 August 7, 2009 I was looking at something in Snopes, and saw a pointer to this item. The Snopes-ism about it is stupid. It's not worth talking about, it's so stupid. However, what the gentleman did is wonderful, and deserves to be shared. The world is full of good people. Wikipedia on Ed Freeman and Bruce Crandall (for whom he was wingman). Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. warpedskydiver 0 #2 August 7, 2009 Maybe I am just old, but I already knew who those two brave men were. But then again I knew guys who were actually there. Sadly they have passed on. My BIL flew with Crandall on his first tour. for a few months. he stayed 3 tours and got shot down 3x. Returned home to find his first wife had run off and left the kids to fend for themselves.
