There are very good fact checking sites out there too, and DZ.COM is not one of them

Seems to have worked in this case.... So if it does work, then your theory has been proven false.

Thank you for admitting that I have credibility. :)

I think you are normally one of the more logical people I know... In fact, you have taught me a few things about debate.

But, I also think you sometimes throw that logic right out the window on certain issues.

However, just as one rose does not make a summer, so dz.com still is not a reliable fact checking site.

Many times BS has been posted and shot down quickly.... This is not the single rose, but one pulled from a garden.

I don't' get my news from DZ.com.... But I have gotten leads on news story's here that I later went out and read more about.

Prudent people check before posting rubbish.

Prudent people also ask questions before the believe something.... The OP here asked a QUESTION to check the validity of something.

There's no question mark in the OP's subject heading. Instead there are 3 exclamation points.

Yet there are plenty in the thread where he actually asks the question.

The people to whom I refer are those who find rubbish on Newsmax, Beck, Limbaugh, or right wing blogs, don't bother to factcheck it, and post it here as if it's Gospel, or ask "Is this really true?" (a very old politicians trick)

On the subject of website user agreements, I had to go to the JSOU website earlier today, which required agreeing to the terms of the attached screen shot of the User Agreement in order to gain access.

The terseness of the 4th dashed line made me chuckle: “security measures ... to protect USG interests - not for your personal benefit or privacy.” Aka, it's not about you. :D

Marg, I honestly respected you until I saw that your Windows theme is pink... [:/]

If you are freaked out by the Terms of Service that the dealers have to agree to to get access to the DOT computer network then you really need to sit and read the End User License for some of the software that you install on your computer.

I like pink. :P Pink stands out in a sea of green, blue, & khaki.

I'm not freaked out. I thought the JSOU User Agreement was acerbically pithy and unintentionally funny at the same time.

Probably so, but so far that has not caught my attention, this did. I am sure we all agree, acknowledge etc. this type of whacko stuff all the time and don't realize it, but like I said, this I saw so I put it out there for comment and to see how it would or would not affect me or my sister.

Thank you to all of you that provided helpful information.

I have had to explicitly agree (several times) not to use software in any attempts at global domination. ;)

A bit off-topic, but the link below shows (with video) how they destroy the engine of a car traded in under the program. The oil is drained and replaced with a "sodium silicate" solution, which hardens after being heated to the point where all water is driven off. The engine seizes, and is destroyed (well, sorta...) Kind of interesting/clever.

And I answer that in post #25 of this thread.

You just throw out any logic when it comes to a political discussion... A process that I bet you would fail a student for if they tried it in one of your classes.

Well there it is then. kallend and his inflatable double have already said all that is to be said.

But it take two ah, or maybe three of them???

Ah strawman, the best you can do is avoid the real topic and pick on a small really unimportant detail

Again this just shows how you chuck logic out the window when it suits you.
