Actually, that was in RESPONSE to your usual postings about Houston and Dallas. Nice try, though.

I posted about Glasgow, which IS in Britain.

And compared it to Houston and Dallas, which are in the United States - at least TRY to make an honest reply, John.

If YOU want to post about guns and Chicago, start your own thread.

And if YOU want to make bullshit comparisons between European and U.S. cities, start YOUR own thread.

You and JR should consider casting the beams out of your own eyes before worrying about the motes in the eyes of Britons.

YOU are the one that made the comparison between Britain and the US, John - worry about your OWN beam before talking about JR or my motes.

i think the US should invade britain and FREE their people! :|

Hmm, with the work ethic of those I know from there I dont think we would want to do that. Get their government of their backs and they would be come compitition for the US.

Since Glasgow, "Homicide capital of Europe", has less than 1/2 the homicide rate of Houston or Dallas, and Britain "The most violent country in Europe" has less half the homicide rate of the USA, it appears you have your beams and motes confused.

Actually the article that the OP posted in the first post had a comparison between Britain and the US.

Hey JR....did you actually post that somebody finally made a good counterpoint?? That is fucking hilarious, can you point out where you made the original point?

"Violence" consists of much more than just homicide.

How true, so please define violence. Also please provide the definition of violence used by the different countries mentioned in the article you posted. The whole story (and your unmentioned "point") is useless without it.

That is the problem - definitions and data collection differs. If people don't bother to report muggings because the cops do nothing, did the crime happen? Of course.

but it's also quite valid that the deaths of a bunch of gangsters is far less concerning to most of us than muggings, rapes, and burglars. Drunk drivers still kill more people than guns.

Homicides, of course, rarely go unreported and have a pretty clear cut and consistent definition from one jurisdiction to another.

True, but there are facts ignored even here when pulling statistics together.

for instance, what ages are stillused today when reporting how many children are killed. how many gun related murders are done within gangs. How many gun murders are commited by those already banned ownship for one reason or another.

and then the facts distorted, like ,say how many of the guns used in Mexico come from the US.

Gets ugly all over dont it.

Oh, and glad you are back to original ID:)
