Who's in charge in SC?

Recommended Posts

the real answer is - not the person that was elected Governor, he has not been allowed to lead

the southern political machine has effectively nuetered the power of the governor, i suspect that he will make that point in an interview tomorrow when he returns to work

politics at its finest, the heck with what is best let's just vote along party lines, translated that means if you are a democrat vote against anything the republican governor wants
Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

Who IS the real Mark Sanford?
He's someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country. This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America.

You've got Mark confused with Obama.
He is a good ole country boy from the Coast who believes in the individuals right to choose, family values, and that government should get out of your life.

Nope, I've got the right guy. He was palling around with Ayers at the University of South Carolina. I really don't know why anyone would want their elected officials associating with that terrorist. I mean what's his real agenda for South Carolina or even this country? You say he's a "good old boy" who wants the government to "get out of your life". Doesn't that describe the segment of the electorate who are buying up all of the guns and ammo? Now he disappears into the backwoods for a few days. Who knows what he was up to?

edited to add:
Apparently he went out for a steak. Unless he re-remembers where he was yet again.

Went out for a steak with a chick he's been romancing online. Dude ... is this guy a 15 year old loner or an adult who's running a state?

So, in other words, he's having sex with an intern.

He apparently decided to go with the "South American woman he met online" route. Gotta give him points for difficulty of execution and originality. Had he bothered to put the Lt Gov. in charge before he left, he probably would have gotten away with it.

The woman, who lives in Argentina, has been a "dear, dear friend" for about eight years but, Sanford said, the relationship didn't become romantic until a little over a year ago. He's seen her three times since then, and his wife found out about it five months ago

And of course FOX tries the usual deception, hoping no one will check:

Which "usual deception" is that, Bill - besides reporting what the Governor's office put out in a presser, that is?

Anyhow, now I'm richer - when the story first broke, I bet myself 50 bucks it was some kind of mid-life crisis thing. When I read the quote from his wife, "I am being a mom today. I have not heard from my husband. I am taking care of my children," I was certain of it.

Being right about his age - he's about to hit 50 - although I haven't done it myself, I do understand the mentality of wanting to take a sabbatical from the world for a while; so I guess I recognized it when I saw it.

But you had to pay yourself, so you're also poorer - would that be a Heisenberg bet? :P

Hey!>:(
Give the guy credit;
A Republican had sex with an adult of the opposite sex!
The GOP is finally moving toward the center!:D

>Which "usual deception" is that, Bill . . .

Switching him from a republican to a democrat as soon as his misdeeds become public. You may have remembered FOX doing that back when the Mark Foley scandal broke.

(Note that when a democrat is doing well, ahead in the polls or whatnot, FOX tends to replace their party affiliation with "republican.")

Ah, I see - sort of the like the "normal deception" of the REST of the MSM making sure that party affiliation is mentioned in the first couple sentences if the miscreant is a republican, while conveniently forgetting to mention it until the last couple paragraphs (if at all) if it's a democrat?

We'll I guess we all know now what was really going on. What a surprise, out of character. I've eaten my share of crow this afternoon.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he can't run for re-election in 2010 due to term limits, correct? And his Presidential shot is pretty much down the tubes. He's already resigned his slot as Chairman of the RGA, I'd bet that's all we're going to see from him as far as resignations go. He'll just ride out the rest of his time as Governor and then go do whatever.

Sort of. Except one is a lie. Unfortunately, most FOX viewers are no longer able to tell the difference.
