happythoughts 0 #1 June 12, 2009 However, Rev Wright (Obama's preacher for years) has come out with a statement about the source of his problems with relating to Obama. It apparently is the Jews. Quote In an exclusive interview at the 95th annual Hampton University Ministers' Conference, Wright told the Daily Press that he has not spoken to his former church member since Obama became president, and he implied that the White House won't allow Obama to talk to him. "Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me," Wright said. "I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office. ... Quote Wright also said Obama should have sent a U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Racism held recently in Geneva, Switzerland, but that the president did not for fear of offending Jews and Israel. He specifically cited the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, an influential pro-Israel lobbying group. "Ethnic cleansing is going on in Gaza. Ethnic cleansing (by) the Zionist is a sin and a crime against humanity, and they don't want Barack talking like that because that's anti-Israel," Wright said. Perhaps Obamas mentor is part of the Holocaust attack Left Wing conspiracy. See how stupid that sounds? There are lots of groups in the world, with a variety of opinions. The internet connects people with common opinions. In most cases, the consensus is that while the group is vehement opinions, they do not support violence. Or, the group may support violence, but lack the organizational ability to carry it out. Wright sounds like an idiot. No one is openly taking him seriously. If they do, they probably won't be driven to violence. Sources of violence are best accomplished by a well-funded, well-organized group that would openly advocate violence. These last two years, the successful group seems to be the jihadists.

I don't even need tbrown to come charging in here throwing around denunciations of Wright to know that Obama's whacko ex-pastor doesn't speak for liberals.Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin

idrankwhat 0 #5 June 12, 2009 I wouldn't agree with his "it's the Jews" comment. If he had rephrased to "it's AIPAC" then I think that would be a better argument. I'd carry it even further. "It's the PAC's".

"It's the PAC's". I think he said exactly what he meant. Just go look up some of his on line sermons. Very consistant....."America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Regardless, his statements aren't much different than Hagee's. That's why neither of them needs to be involved in public policy debates.
lawrocket 3 #8 June 12, 2009 What else would we expect from a hating, ex-military, right-wing religious nut? He should be immediately investigated and jailed, for he constitutes a terrorist threat. Wait - he's not right-wing? Huh? Oh. I believe that he deserves applause for his courageous statements in attempting to stamp out intolerance throughout the land. My wife is hotter than your wife.
