Lefty 0 #1 June 11, 2009 A truly excellent article from Commentary Magazine. Clicky. It's long but worth the read. Just wanted to share.Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin

The flaw in the argument is that it equates amassing wealth with creation of wealth. 150 years ago that might have been generally true, but today we see the manipulation of wealth (without actually creating any wealth) as a primary means of getting wealthy. The shennagigans of the investment banks that led to the current economic mess are a good indication of this.If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical. pirana 0 #3 June 12, 2009 I heard she was starring in the role of Maria in an off Broadway production of West Side Story. But who would name their kid Wealth anyway? Must be a stage name." . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley
TomAiello 26 #4 June 12, 2009 Very good article, now that I found some time to read it. I do think it accurately describes a fundamental difference between the two dominant political philosophies in the USA.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
