LouDiamond 1 #4 June 8, 2009 SF teams have been mounting those on gun trucks/Hummers since around 2005. The scunnion they bring and the bad guys reaction to one when it opens up is simply amazing to watch. They do require a good deal of maintenance and the gunner needs to know a good deal about the weapon to make it operate correctly."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
rwieder 0 #5 June 8, 2009 While i'm certainly no expert on urban warfare, i believe i can safely make the statement that the more lead you can spray, the more heads you can keep down until countermeasures can be utilized. I estimate that this weapon fires 1200-1500 RPS. It is of course belt driven, and earlier i said i felt as if the barrell was cooled by air, i'm not sure but when the second SUV drove up there was a trickle of water coming down the port low side of the gun. My son told me this gun is utilized for defense from roof top fire ie: RPG's Grenade Launchers, etc...My son also advises me that these SUVS have PRG capability as well. Skyrad 0 #11 June 9, 2009 As much point as a cock on a priest. Seeing as wherever the POTUS goes he closes half the bloody city and is surrounded by hundreds of Secret Service. LouDiamond 1 #20 June 10, 2009 QuoteI'd like to hear the opinions of the gun experts here on this one. Is it really effective to spray so many bullets out at once? Seeing how I am probably the only one posting in this thread who has actually used this weapon in combat, I can definitively say that it is effective to have a weapon with this capability. Especially when you are operating as a small element and can effectively deliver devastating pinpoint firepower to the intended target. Aside from the 50 cal MG, this is the weapon I want on my gun trucks. The only negative thing I can say about it is the maintenance/parts required and ease of operator induced error which leads to malfunction sometimes. It is also very easy to go through a lot of ammo, very very quickly if the gunner gets trigger happy."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
warpedskydiver 0 #21 June 10, 2009 Vortex prefers his "Juice Dispenser" because the BG's look so thirstyA nice combo is four trucks, 1 or 2 with a Dillon 134, a M2QCB on 1 or 2 of them and a MK19 Plenty of MK46 and a few LR rifles in the back. That why it would suck to attack a patrol with anything but IED's if they actually engage they will get their asses handed to them.
