lawrocket 3 #101 June 5, 2009 Quoteat the time she had a job and a partner - why shouldn't she have a child? I have found in my experience that rarely does a partner become abusive only after months or years. And it seems that she has not one but three kids. Also, why would the loss of a partner equate the loss of a job? I have represented hundreds of people who have split from a partner, had kids, and kept a job. I have even EMPLOYED some of these people. It sure would be nice, in my thinking, if people quit making excuses for themselves and others. I describe my drill sergeant as the cruelest and kindest person I ever knew. He was the first person to push me beyond what I thought were my capabilities. He was hard. He was tough. And when he pulled me aside in my second week and said, "You have capabilities that you haven't even touched. You WILL do this and you WILL succeed. And I WILL not let you fail me or fail yourself." He pushed me to my limits - physical and mental. And I did it. And I excelled. Drill Sergeant Nichols did not let me feel sorry for myself, which I had done for years. Failing out of college went from being the "worst thing that ever happened to me" to being my fault and something that I could fix. So I had a learning disability. No excuses. He would not let me make excuses, nor give them. And to see him smile - WOW! His cruelty was actually kindness. You may think that these people are incapable of anything else. I do not. You may may think that mother of three can do not better with her life. I disagree. You may think it a wonderful thing to coddle this lady in order to minimize the pain she may feel. I disagree, for the consequence is a life without satisfaction. You perhaps have never experienced failure the way I have. You would think it horrible to try to get the most out of a person. Make no mistakes - Drill Sergeant Nichols got the most out of me for his benefit. I took far more from him than he could have EVER gotten from me. My physical therapist was similarly cruel. I thank her for restoring movement to my knee. So right now she is a loser leech. If you think I lump her kids in that then you are mistaken. These kids have no choice. She does. She has the choice to stop being a loser leech. Sadly, there are far too many people out there who believe that this is the best thing she can do. You think she is incapable of doing any better. I disagree. My wife is hotter than your wife.

lawrocket 3 #104 June 5, 2009 Quote(by mentioning mozilo you are now implying that this woman can and should be charged with fraud - neat. but what about the rest of the bankers) When an individual takes something from someone and gives it to himself or herslf it is called theft, fraud, etc. This is regardless of whether the person is poor or rich. When a the government takes something from someone and gives it to someone else, it is called a "bailout." This is regardless of whether it is billions to bankers or trillions in welfare. Either way - someone is gaining and someone is losing. Some find this to be "fair." My wife is hotter than your wife.
billvon 3,120 #105 June 5, 2009 >what i am not willing to do is spit on those who get ground down by life and >assume they are living 'loser' lives or put them into a whole class of 'mcworkers' >who can be paid peanuts and then laid off in millions. Right. You are just willing to spit on the children of those who get ground down by the financial system. You assume they are greedy scumbags and lump them into a class of "leeches" who you despise. Until, of course, you start to notice that all the taxes they were paying have gone away and now there's no one to support your favorite class of people. It is a common scenario - the "oppressed workers" hate the "fat cats" at "the top" which really means they hate everyone above their salary/rank/position. Ironically, those fat cats are the ones who, when those workers are working, pay their salaries and who, when they are not working, pay their welfare bills. georgerussia 0 #119 June 5, 2009 Quote the best mother she can be will depend on her starting circumstances. in the first case there was an abusive father so she made the right choice to leave. In my opinion this kind of choice alone does not tell anything about how good the mother is, and does not justify welfare. I believe it's your opinion too, as you're not supporting her with your money.* Don't pray for me if you wanna help - just send me a check. *

justinb138 0 #124 June 6, 2009 Quote why is that? Well, if you want the honest answer, it's because you started this thread based on an opinion you have about something, and it'd be rational to make an argument in support of that opinion. However, when people questioned the rationale behind your opinion, instead of refuting their arguments based on reason, you chose to: 1. Attempted to defend the source of your story by insulting a political group and news station completely unrelated to the topic. 2. Accused another poster of wanting children to be homeless when they said nothing of the sort. 3. Posted a similar story, while providing no reason to back up your opinion on the matter. 4. Transition to a different topic in which more people might agree with your opinion (bank bailouts). 5. Accused bankers of stealing this womans house. 6. Accused lawrocket of defending the bankers and insulting the woman. 7. More mind reading attempts. 8. Posted a story about rich bankers, unrelated to the original topic. 9. More mind reading and accusations. 10. More comparisons to the bankers. 11. More accusations. At no point in this thread have you attempted to make a rational argument in support of your opinion on this topic, you've just been rambling on about how unfortunate her life is and then insulting other posters when they remind you that it is of her own making. You've offered no solution to the problem, and when confronted with questions you are either unable or unwilling to answer, you try to change the subject or distract from the original topic. Here are the most recent questions that were asked by other posters, I challenge you to answer them, provided you are capable of doing so: How much should I be taxed so this woman can continue to use her uterus as a puppy mill and stay home and not have to work? So how much should I pay this woman so I am no longer labeled a heartless bastard by your standard? Why should I be made to bear the cost of her failure to be responsible? Why should I be penalized for being responsible when she is rewarded for being irresponsible? Does her 'need' justify the taking of my earnings by force?
