Who is doing the attacking??But, to your point, now, nothing will come of it. Never should have to begin with. the Dems are in this as deep as anyone. And, no one should be. Just cause Obama says it is illegal does not make it so. He knows that, but this is all about popularity, not law..."America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Speaker Pelosi has been grand-standing on how she was never briefed when we all know that she was.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! quade 4 #7 May 13, 2009 QuoteVERY, closely. How about you? Or more to the point, how closely dare you? By the sounds of it, you may have missed the part today where what he said is generally being construed to exonerate Pelosi while simultaneously digging him and GWB further into trouble. I've been of the opinion that the reason he's been so vocal is that he's trying to keep him and GWB out of a war crimes trial, but the more he talks, the worse it's getting.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

In particular the timeline and what Cheney said today? I only got to see part of Cheney's interview with Kuvoto this afternoon. I missed Rep. Hoyer's comments, but believe he's glossing. I've been paying attention enough to know that there are few to no surprises to be found in this selective "inquiry". We know the policies of the Bush administration. We also know that these policies were communicated to Congress. It is naive to think that Congressional leaders weren't briefed, in great detail. Speaker Pelosi is taking a hand at the "Senator Dodd" tactic, and it has blown up in her face. Personally, I think whatever hearings are held, and whatever is gleaned from them, no good will come from it. However, if democrats in Congress want to take this ride, pull the carpet back completely. Indeed, you will find that Congress not only knew, but by its action or inaction, tacitly encouraged these policies. President Obama would do well to take a play from President Ford's playbook and clear the slate of this matter, and I believe he wants to, but he has to appease the liberal wing of his party and now he must pay attention to this "distraction" from his big plans of "change"...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
