rushmc 23 #26 April 22, 2009 Quote Damn, I guess I'm gonna have to go out and get me a gun. If you want. I had reasons for mine (except one) I quess some here need to imply otherwise. Lindsey 0 #27 April 22, 2009 I think it was kind of a tongue-in-cheek post to begin with, something that people with a little self-esteem are able to do without getting all worked up.-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. skybill 22 #28 April 24, 2009 QuoteNews: Having guns 'is a sign of low self-esteem' Guns can provide an intoxicating and almost pornographic attraction to young men who often feel powerless, according to academics in the field. Last year a team of criminologists from Portsmouth University researched gun crime in a project funded by the Home Office. They interviewed 80 men in prison who had become involved in gun crime. 'Power' Asked about what attracted him to guns, Tommy, a London born crack addict and armed robber, said: "The control, the power you have got when you have got that in your hand." Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6937537.stm Don't shoot the messenger. Hi qua, Your first sentence says a lot,"intoxicating," "pornographic," "young men" and "powerless." Add to that the part about 80 "men" in "prison," what, no women?? Or is it that the "Pistol, Packin' Momas" out there don't get caught?? "80 powerless, pornographic, intoxicating young men in prison with GUNS!!!!!!," sounds like the making of a trashy, Saturday night 50cent, class B, Black and white on scratchy 16mm , "Film Nuoir" movie!!!! skybill 22 #30 April 25, 2009 Hi qua, I like it, you really took me seriously!! In reality the idea is to plan the comeback so that you think I'm serious!! You took the bait, "Hook, line and sinker!!" How serious do you want me to get about this info; 80 young guys (no women or old men?? a "real" inquiry would have a larger and more representative sample of the population) in jail (they got caught) they like guns!! (Oh WOW!!) I had a good laugh just writing this skit!!! PS, "Pray for the .05 level of significance, or is it the .005 level?? It's been a few years since I was a Psych major!!" PPS, so you did a take off on JR's skit, either way, I don't have any tattoos and as for guns, thats for me to know and you to figure out.SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

masterrig 1 #34 April 27, 2009 QuoteYou know, Paulan the point you hit is pretty dead on, in my arrogant opinion. But note - this is science people are doing. They've got goveernment funding to study this and rerach their conclusions. I mean, Paul, this is supposedly science. I wonder... how many in this 'study' drove Porsches, too?
