philh 0 #4 April 9, 2009 Globalisation.. this has been promotes by a capilaist agenda for the very good reason of comparative advantage. Trading with each other benefits all. Mass population extermination.. well this has happened Hitlers gernmany, Pol Pots Cambodia and Rwanda are example. As far as I can say this hhas no connection to globalisation. It seems in fact the reverse, they tend to be nationalistic philopshies that pursue this. martial law in the USA. Ive heard plenty of conpisracy nutters saying this is being planned, but they never present any credible evidence. Rantings of the paranoid if you ask me. One currency, well there is only one currency in the USA , would you prefer 50 of them? A cashless soceity, this might happen if technology improves, so what? billvon 3,120 #8 April 9, 2009 If it's "new world order" as in rapid changes in society, then that's happening now. Heck, we are here arguing on a Canadian computer on a system started by a South African, and people are logging in from Australia, the UK, the US and Germany. That's pretty new world order. If it's the "new world order" conspiracy theory, then I think it's as valid as all the other conspiracy theories out there.

I don't think they could ever agree on 1 person to have absolute power though. The World Order is constantly evolving, mostly in little tiny increments that usually only reveal themselves over the long haul. Occasional truly significant single events (moveable type, first atomic reactions, Battle of Hastings, etc.) provide some demarcation; and we once in a while slip backwards (though that is usually only localized hard times). But for the most part momentum rules, things happen on a continuum, and only rarely does an event mark a point where you can point to a day and say "Right there, right then - - a New World Order began."" . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley

nerdgirl 0 #12 April 10, 2009 Quote I'm guessing this is more along the lines of what you're talking about. http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/2324727/Chavez-New-world-order-emerging Thanks for the link. Wasn't sure to what the OP was referring. Yes, the New World Order is real. (And there will be newer New World Orders to come, e.g., transhumanism.) The biggest shift was the increasing number of democracies throughout the 20th century, the rise of free-market capitalism in the 2nd half, collapse of the Soviet Union, and increase in globalization. (That's probably not Chavez's vision of a New World Order tho.') Semi-tangential: whenever I hear the phrase "New World Order" the first thing that pops into my mind is Ministry's N.W.O. /Marg Act as if everything you do matters, while laughing at yourself for thinking anything you do matters.
