SkyBastard 0 #26 March 27, 2009 so the fuel gauge was the wrong one for the plane and was reading wrong, yet the pilots go to jail? did they fit the fuel guage? i think they seem pretty calm and collected considering they knew they were in the drink, even putting it down near to boats for rapid assistance. my father flies helicopters and i'm not sure that they dip stick the fuel as part of the pre flight check or whether a guage check is sufficient, oil yes dipstick that, i remember that, they might do fuel i'd have to ask him. i don't think i've ever seen the pilot of an easyjet with the hood up and the dipstick hanging out, bit of tissue in one hand :PDude #320 "Superstitious" is just a polite way of saying "incredibly fucking stupid". DJL 235 #27 March 27, 2009 Um, never said that they should have gone to jail or that it was the pilots that should have done this. Also not talking about double checking the fuel level after each flight. It was a new gauge and there were no steps taken to verify that it was working correctly. A dipstick or just checking the volume of gas loaded vs. what the gauge showed would have tipped them off. Ten years is crazy but what IS the flight crew's responsibility?"I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
shermanator 4 #28 March 28, 2009 so, it would be ok for the pilot to say "oh sh*^* we are going to die, oh fu#@$ oh fu*^. ... ... ... oh fu$% fu#$ shi#$" in the middle of a bad situation, but not ok, to say "God help me" , or anything of that like... why is that? please, explain to me, what the difference is.CLICK HERE! new blog posted 9/21/08 CSA #

Actually, it is OK to say it - as long as you don't say it in Arabic.
