Just so I make it clear. I have zero belief that the UN will do much of anything - and actually that would solve two problems. America wouldn't be the world police force AND we wouldn't have to do a thing with the UN. OTOH if the UN actually did something the entire world would love it.

Economics have never been as simple as supply and demand, despite what we might learn in fifth grade. In the real world, there are other important factors, which can sometimes have a greater effect on market prices than supply and demand.
