Why Are Gas Prices Going Up While Oil Keeps Falling?

Recommended Posts

It is very tireing to here these people slam companies for making money. They get these media driven sound bites that drive class envy and make everybody all angry at the money made. But they forget to put into context the actual percent return on investment.

So, if a company makes a capital investment of say 1 billon dollars and makes 11 billion, are they more or less evil than a company that invests 100 billion and makes 1000 billion? Hmmmm......

Nice dodge. See the trap coming?

What would be legaly resonable to you? You know, if you were king and got to decide.

And what was the percent return on investment that these evil oil corps made on their investment?

It is public record you know.

What are you talking about? How much do you think is "reasonable" to make?

>What would be legaly resonable to you? You know, if you were king and

As much as they could legally make.

And what might that be?

But that is not the question I asked now is it......

Uh, 37% ROI TTM. I already answered that for you. Are you neglecting to read the reply before hitting "POST?"

Yes and TTM is not what I am talking about.

ROI sir. The company ROI not what they are paying in stock dividends. I consider 10 to 12% resonable.

You?

And what was Exxons ROI in the last 2 years vs the say the last 6 years? Or even the last 10 or 15 years....

There is no limit as to what I would consider reasonable.

Now, what limit would be reasonable to you?

If this is true then why do seem to support those whos pants are in a wad about profits?

>ROI sir. The company ROI . . .

The company return on investment is 37% from the period 12/07 to 12/08. Here's a link if you don't believe me:

Now that I have answered your question three separate times, here's one for you. What do you think an appropriate profit for Exxon would be?

>If this is true then why do seem to support those whos pants are in a
>wad about profits?

Who are you claiming "seems to support those whose pants are in a wad?"

You really going to hang your point on the TTM?

You see billvon, whole I am not an expert on stocks I am very versed in picking numbers that support a case cause I spend a lot of time trying to pull truth from numbers.

So, the last link I posted shows a much better story than what you posted.

Record profits as posted is greatly misleading when looked at in the context of what the company invests vs returns or ROI. TTM is very misleading in this case

You just provided a link to a page that shows ROI TTM. I don't think you even read the link before you posted it.

Now, I'll ask you a second time. What do you think an appropriate profit for Exxon would be?

>All anybody need do is look at the links.

First you said that return-on-investment based on TTM wasn't valid. Then you posted a link that showed industry ROI based on TTM. Yep, all anyone needs to do is look at the links to realize that you didn't even read it before posting it.

>And your insinuation is a bull shit stunt.

I didn't insinuate anything. You came right out and admitted it. You still have a few hours to edit your post, if you like.

And for the third time, what profit do you think Exxon should make? Or can you not answer that question without falling into your own trap?

I answered your misleading question in a truer fashion than you asked it.

10 to 12% ROI
