Not sure if anyone caught this or not…if you have a brain in your head this should enrage you, whatever your political affiliation. obama signed his health care bill, covering under and uninsured children. Let me say although I disagree with universal “socialized” healthcare systems (hey it works like shit in Canada, but I m sure it will be great here) but to cover children is a good thing. Not that you would catch this in the mass media frenzy but did you know this also covers illegal aliens in this country!

Obama also noted that the legislation lifts the ban on states allowing the children of illegal immigrants to enroll in the program, eliciting another big cheer from the invited audience.

Unbelievable and shameful at the same time. Now our “social responsibility” requires the taxpayer to cover people whose first act in this country was to break the law? Wow! There is even an effort to get illegal’s in state college tuition! So YOU as a citizen would pay out-of-state rates to go to the college of your choice and a person who is not only NOT a citizen of the US but also here illegally will get a better rate than you! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! I saw a guy post recently that “Republicans: were loosing the battle for brains” I would beg to differ.

OK. You're a doctor in a hospital. A two year old comes in with a broken back. He's dying. Someone yells "the kid's an illegal and his parents won't pay!" What do you do?

1) Save his life
2) Wait until you can verify his status/get payment before you treat him
3) Dump him outside the hospital and call the INS; let them deliver his body back across the border

If you chose 1) then you are like most people. Treating the injured child takes priority over everything else. However, if you chose 1) it also means that you have chosen to spend other people's money on health care for illegal immigrants. And after you decide it's OK to spend other people's money on illegal immigrants, everything else is a detail.

Take the kid in, fix him up, and his parents can do what they can around the hospital to work off some of the bill. Janitorial duties, groundskeeping, etc.
They'll never be able to work off all of it, or even a very big share of it, but they may as well do something constructive while the child is healing and they are all awaiting deportation. If they don't want to work...they can be deported immediatley (just the parents, not the kid).

I almost feel sorry for your idiocy. We already do that in the emergency room everyday! Take it from a guy with 4 years EMS under his belt. This expands the scope to actual health care, not just emergency services. This must be part of obama’s big plan to slow the rate of illegal immigration into this country ???

I think you might be missing an important fact here. Do you think that that care is free? Nope. Indeed, taking care of a kid who isn't breathing in the ER is about two orders of magnitude more expensive than treating him for asthma before it gets that bad. And you have just admitted you're OK with the more expensive treatment as long as he doesn't get the cheaper treatment.
