Justice Ginsburg - cancer surgery

Recommended Posts

There are two justices likely to retire during Obama's term. Both are liberals. So the odds are, that Obama will not have the opportunity to upset the current ratio of conservatives & liberals on the court. He'll just replace the two outgoing liberals with two more liberals, leaving things as-is.

which was foreseeable -- and why there would have been no
"balance" to speak of had a republican won the last election.
The SCOTUS would have turned into a SCOTGOP.

On MSNBC now. Surgery for pancreatic cancer.

While I don't agree with her views, I wish her well. Hopefully she will have a fast and full recovery with no relapses.

I too, wish her well. Pancreatic cancer is a tough one. My father died of it in 2006. The "Whipple Procedure" which I'm sure is what she just had, is very extensive and takes a long time to recover from. If successful it can prolong life for about a year to eighteen months. Add chemo and she has a very tough road ahead. My guess is that she'll resign soon.
The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

I hope he's not worried about "upsetting the ratio", although that may be the case. SC is a different thing altogether than political affiliations. Sometimes the "conservatives" will be on the majority of a decision I totally agree with and other times it will be the "liberals".
