quade 4 #2 January 26, 2009 Earlier in the day the estimate was that it would be about 50,000. 68,000 is nuts. Note to everyone that currently has a gig . . . enjoy it while you can even if it's shoveling horse crap.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
dgskydive 0 #3 January 26, 2009 Pretty scary situation we are in. Quote Note to everyone that currently has a gig . . . enjoy it while you can even if it's shoveling horse crap. You are right about that. I have never been so stressed in my life as I have been the last two months. Love your job, even if you hate it!!! Especially in CA. If I read it right. THey just hit 9.3%. I also read that they (CA.) are delaying payments to citizens for different types of state assistance programs. Handing out IOU's!!!! Hope those peoples landlords will take an IOU. Some how I doubt it though. With tax return time coming. I wonder how the state will handle that? Will we be getting IOU's on our state tax returns?Dom

I have set (personal) record lows for miles in 4 of the past 6 weeks. Some companies aren't hiring "new graduate" drivers, just experienced ones from the (roughly 2500) companies that have folded. Fortunately, I work for a solid company, and have enough senority that my job should be safe. For which I am very grateful."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." It is sad that NO job seems to be safe at this point. In my search for work over the last two months Correctional Officer....... sorry cutting back and not hiring Security guard........ sorry come back later Waiter............... your over qualified.....WTF.... they had an MBA working there. Stock boy at about 10 different grocery stores........ sorry not hiring. Cashier at a bodega......... sorry, go away. Delivery for dominoes......... sorry, go away. I was ready to slit my wrists till I finally got a job. I guess it all worked out in the end, with help from a few friends. Best paying job I have ever had and lots of room to move up. I count my lucky stars. I was about 3 or 4 days from having to move back to Cali and move into my parents house. Dom
