baronn 111 #153 February 3, 2009 Thiough I feel the new Prez. has done quite few things right(an absolutely brilliant campaign) the left attitude towards gun ownersip is going to change things in the future. Smith and Wesson will be a big benefactor of this and one might consider buying their stock b4 earnings.

boinky 0 #155 February 3, 2009 I WANT to go to a place that has moving targets, even if they're not live ones. But not sure where to find one. boinky 0 #156 February 3, 2009 Other than using a rifle on to defend some rabbits I had against wandering dogs (some 20 years ago), I've never had much contact with guns. My parents weren't "gun" people. My mom is still being pissy about my enthusiasm for my revolver! Can you believe she wouldn't even TOUCH it? It's amazing how broadly your horizons can be widened when you know the right people! Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts? kbordson 8 #159 February 3, 2009 Sometimes it's just fun to shoot. This past weekend, we took out the Tommy and a few other toys. I think I might have added to the ammo shortage.

masterrig 1 #161 February 3, 2009 Do you know a friend of a friend who owns a ranch where they hunt pigs? Might check the local papers for hunts. Pigs are so much fun to hunt. The really fun part is chasin' 'em in a pick-up at full throttle across the pasture to catch-up to 'em!Don't get me wrong! My wife and I like to set-up targets and go through a few boxes of ammo. She can out-shoot me with a pistol but, I can out-shoot her with a rifle. I guess, that's because she has to 'qualify' twice a year. You're soooo right! Folks who don't like guns just don't unnerstand what we call fun. Chuck

AggieDave 6 #163 February 3, 2009 I'm guessing you saw the new state legislation that's trying to get passed? The one that would make it legal to shoot hogs from helicopters! That actually sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon. Helicopter, rifle, rig (you've got to get down to the hog some how, right?)...followed by a fire pit for cooking and beer. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." It's amazing, how fast those suckers are! They are sure a 'skill tester'. I hope, you get to do it! Chuck
masterrig 1 #165 February 3, 2009 No! I haven't seen that! Dayum! That there would be some fun hunting! I've been on hunts where a helicopter was used to spot pigs for us on the ground. they come blowin' outa the brush like all the devils in hell were after 'em! I'd like to try it from a helicopter, for sure! Chuck
steve1 5 #166 February 3, 2009 I used to order brass, powder, and bullets from Mid-Way and Mid-South. You could save a lot of money by ordering in bulk. Anybody tried those companies lately?
masterrig 1 #167 February 3, 2009 I was going to mention... I don't know about the hogs back in your part of the country but here, nothing will touch them! Not buzzards, coyotes or any other critter! These pigs out here carry diseases I can't pronounce! Chuck

AggieDave 6 #171 February 3, 2009 The hogs around here are hit and miss, so to speak, in regards to sickness and bugs. Yet another reason why you don't need tags to take them out. Its too bad I'm in the city limits, since there are some NICE white tail in my neighborhood. Well, nice except for the eating of the bushes and the such. You could literally walk up to one, grab it by the ears and slit its throat with a knife.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." masterrig 1 #172 February 3, 2009 Here where I live, we have deer come-up to the house. Mule deer and white tail. They're like pets! Folks around here all feed them. My wife and I like to go out after they've dropped their antlers and collect them. I use the antlers for 'hooks' to hang tack on in my tack room and door pulls as well as for hanging things on in my shop. Chuck
