Gun Ammo Shortage

Recommended Posts

I think I got to page 4. If I want to shoot 357 shells, I can probably get hooked up. :)
But I saw very little .38 special specific ammo available. [:/]

So I went to Walmart to buy ammo for my gun. I own a .357 revolver. I just LOVE my gun.

http://www.ammoman.com

He don't EVER run out. Any kind of ammo, any size, non corosive. Tracers, bandeloreos, canned ammo w/ stripper clips, military issue AR-15 clips. I've never bought anything from this gentleman, but i've heard tell.

Ammoman is the only place I've bought ammo online - he's out of 38 special.

Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.

Prohibits: (1) transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions; (2) a licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act; (3) failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours; (4) failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days; or (5) keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury.

Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act.

Directs the Attorney General to: (1) establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearinghouse; (2) conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and (3) collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer.

Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.

Looks like they're priming the pump... you were saying?

You hear that, Canadians? Nyeah, nyeah.

Can you believe that they were out of ammo? And they informed me that everyone else in town is out of ammo too. I called my local gun range. They said that they only have 10 boxes of 50 rounds left. It seems that folks are stockpiling because of the new president.

Has anyone else come across this problem? :S

Sort of. We had trouble finding enough flu vaccine late this season for everyone in our family.
Basically the same thing .... right?

Yeah, its been hard to get .223 locally for a bit. Some large suppliers in Texas have stopped taking orders and are only taking department orders (since departments have a training budget and requires certain number of rounds each year).

EDIT: Everyone I talk to isn't worried about not being able to get ammo later, they're worried it will be very heavily taxed and exceptionally expensive to get ammo later.

Wow! I'll have to admit it, I didn't think you had it in you to post a thread in The Bonfire that would get moved to Speakers Corner!

Maybe a refresher of the forum rules will get you back up to speed on things here? ;)

You all SUCK!!! >:(

fortunately our wise politicians passed a tax holiday on fire arm sales - yep - the 2nd Amendment Tax Holiday - all firearms were tax free on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, one sporting goods store sold $205,000 in firearms, almost everything they had :)

Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

Nomination for Untraceable Powder Salesman of the Year, anyone? Taggants on the horizon?

With serial numbered bullets and ammo purchase registration, then they wouldn't need taggants in powder any more, right? That way a hundred years worth of load recipes won't have to be thrown out the window. (Just trying to look on the "bright side" of gun control...) :S

Actually, her message was completely apolitical and doesn't really deserve to be in Speaker's Corner.

But some people think that ANY conversation about guns is evil, and it upsets them so terribly that they complain to moderators.

So this really says nothing about Boinky, who remains a very sweet lady.
What it really says is that the anti-gun people in Bonfire are whacko intolerant of gun folks.

Thank you, kind sir. I really didn't mean for it to turn into a political debate. I was just frustrated at not being able to find ammo for my new play pretty. :(

Technically, the conversation wasn't about guns at all, but merely ammo! :) Or the lack thereof! ;)

I am, indeed, hitting the withdrawal point. I had every intention of going to the range this week. I'm doing some calling and web searches. Hopefully, something will turn up soon. I'm sure my mom will be very happy. She didn't get why I was so excited that I now have a gun anyway.

I have to share my favorite weekly e-mail conversation with my honey:

ME: "Guess What?"

HIM: "You have a gun?"

ME: "Why yes...yes I do!!!" (and Boinky bounces up and down in excitement)

(boyfriend smiles indulgently)

:D:D:D
