This is the third guy from the NSA to come out about this, and the Room 461A that started this all off in 2005 was verified by a Verizon employee that routed the traffic out of that room.

The last two whistle blowers from the NSA gave stories on how they listened in to phone sex conversations and would mark the recording so other employees could pull up the file and listen in.

None of this is surprising, none of this is new. We knew there was an abuse of power and that the 4th Amendment had been trashed under the guise of security.

Mike, those that report on him do constantly what you have just posted. The exact words may have been spoken but, in context he was mocking those in the media that say he said that.

Nothing new, as I have been listening to him off and on for nearly 20 years.

What he did say and mean (after he finished mocking the bogus reports) is yes, I hope he fails when he tries to impliment his social type programs. No different than someone wanting Bush to fail in the implimentation of say his faith based programs, but wishing that does not say they wish Bush to fail.

The NSA has had this ability for decades. Mr. Tice is trying to say he was part of the high-tech direct targeting of news organizations. He then provides few specifics. The reality is this: News organizations have no problem revealing classified information in an effort to make news. Even despite this, there is no way that the NSA was able to directly monitor 24/7 activity of the news organizations. Factor in the depth of news networks, their affiliates and contractors all over the world, even passive NSA "sniffers" would likely pick something of interest up when an editor is talking to a "source" in say...Pakistan...

Interestingly, Mr. Tice says at the end of the interview that he offered himself to the Obama Campaign last February, and it's clear, the media was in no way hindered from seeing its agenda through.

I don't think Max was saying that.

One thing with which I disagree is Max's assertion that, if true, the news organizations weren't harmed. ANY warrantless intrution is harmful. The protections are dignitary in nature.

And I agree with others that all administrations push the limits of the Constitution. All admins find ways to abuse their power. I reckon Obama will have his "unprecedented" seizures of power, and there will be complaints by the right, and the left will support the intrusions either because "the children" need it or because the right wing is getting what is coming to them.

But to your post, Obama is my president. I do not want him to fail as President. What purpose would that serve? I do want him to fail in the implimentaion of some of his stated policies however, just like Rush said.
